My Compaq I got 3 years ago has always had random
"pauses," in which there is no input from keyboard or
mouse for 10 to 15 seconds, then works normally.

Installing WinXP Pro and latest bios updates made no
difference, and there are no irq confilcts.
Any ideas on this one?

Heh, I get this with my compaq server - still yet to find a fix though. Will be interested if anyone knows
