Despite a looming exam, tons of work and a million and one things to do, game programming wise I\'m a bit stuck/bored... wanted to enter something to the ongamedev shooter compo but just can\'t get keen on anything shooter-like at the moment, any suggestions?

That wasn't exactly helpful

Idea for projects? Well a lot of games come out of really simple ideas. One day, I decided to make a retro style game where you moved dangerously clichéd space ships around a map. It turned into a really big game.

An idea might be to create something purely outrageous and fun. A 3d cel-shaded sidescroller in which you walk around a neighbourhood beating up mobile phone mast contractors and tearing down their masts? Hey, it could happen...

Hmm, that mast idea could be good. A bit like Crazy Taxi. I like it.

Facts are meaningless.
You could use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true.

There's a mini comp over at Retro Remakes where entire game has to be controlled using ONE key. In collaboration with oneswitch.org.uk which is a website devoted to games for disabled people that can only use a single switch for playing games, sort of like writing a game that Stephen Hawking could play!

There are a few prizes up for grabs but only got until 11th May to finish.

If that sounds too much like hard work, then do what I am doing right now and polishing off a bottle of wine.

Boo!

Hi,

@David T, that's quite a funny idea

@spooky, ah didn't know about that one, I'll take a look.. interesting.. I always liked that game (can't remember who posted) with no graphics, just sounds, that was a shooter too.

Cheers.
