What do I need in order to connect to an internet site, so a game is hosted on that server and not my personal computer?

For example, let's say my site's name is www.[insertnamehere].com. What do I need to do -- I'm assuming server-wise -- so the command, SET NET CONNECTION 4 [assuming 4 is the 'Internet TCP/IP Connection For DirectPlay'],"www.[insertnamehere].com", would allow me to create a session that my brother using a different internet connection could join?
