Yeah, I'll be getting an X-Box 360 too. It comes out in November.

Playstation 3 and Revolution are both penciled in for Spring 2006 (Q2 2006)

To be honest the X-Box 360 is going to be worth it just for the launch titles.. some bloody cracking games going to be appearing on release.

The souped up 360 sounds like a good machine for emulation - I mean with those specs your talking MAME Outrun2 capable!. That's probably what I'll go for, I'm closest to the router as well so I'll squander that spare connection for it .

Well from what I understand the emulation mode is suppose to be powerful enough to allow it to run X-Box games.
Obviously they're going to look a little better... I mean Geforce 3 using PS1.3 to X900 XT using PS3.0 .. Hmmm heh just slightly better than 16FP me thinks.

I do like the fact that ATI have spent the last year trying to get thier PS3.0 to actually be quicker than thier PS2.0. It's amusing when you think about it given that 3.0 is specifically there for enhancing speed and providing more dynamic shaders rather than quality.

Just slighty baffling to why NVIDIA can get a 40% speed boost on regular PS2.0 and almost 100% speed boost on PS3.0 specific code, yet ATI seem to be benching identically.

I mean how hard is it really to transfer from 24FP to 32FP heh
Still for the price it's going to be awesome.

Have any of you seen the Madden 'Next Generation' yet? The video is on Fileplanet if you want to check it out.. looks pretty awesome.

Now I'm currious... Which titles are you talking about?
(I'll know when I get the next issue of OXM, there should be a schedule with the first releases announced for Xbox 360 but I just can't wait)

I think they're refering to the Stereotropic or however you say it Engine. They added a hardware chip to allow for that Red-Blue 3D Glasses to be used with no slow-down.

Kinda why the new ATI SDK has 5 different versions of the technology being shown off. This said there is also the patent about the LCD with DepthView...

I'm not sure if anyone has seen the Monitor, cant remember who it's from but you can see object appear to 'jump' from the screen up to a foot. I saw some of the technology at GDC Europe last year, it was definately a funcky 3D monitor that just kinda baffles the senses because it doesn't do it like the Sony Prism Display which requires you to be at a given angle... this one will work up to 160­°

I think it's by Xeed or something, sure it began with an X. The problem is so much is shrouded in mystery about the Revolution.
Both the X-Box 360 and Playstation 3 are mostly known about; but the Revolution is completely blank with only rumours.

God it's like so much more exciting to see what they come up with at E3

Fable 2, Black & White 2, Half-Life 2, Halo 2.5, Perfect Dark Zero, Tomb Raider Legends,.. that's about all I can remember right now.

I've also heard of another next-gen Xbox game. I think it was called "Condemned" or something. Some scary game I think. I'll try and find something more about it. There was screenshots from it in the latest OXM, and it looked quite good.

Posession, it doesn't say which system the screenshots are from.. I'd suspect X-Box 360 despite the title saying PS3, but dunno.

Looks interesting, some good british talent pushing forward with next generation hardware.

Nice spelling of Downloadz there....also that wouldn't work as Xenon is an element...if you had designed a console called the Xbox 360 however...

I wasnt aware Square would be making a game for the xbox, however.. I was the one who posted that one of the creators of the final fantasy series and his studo.. Mistwalker Studio's has moved to the xbox platform.

I know that Resident Evil 4 is being made for the X-Box.. or might be X-Box 360, not sure. One of them at any rate.

As a true Nitendo fan I am a bit more than a little f***ed off with what they've done. Resident Evil 4 was suppose to be like Zero, a Nintendo exclusive game.

First the Playstation 2 fans get a copy after whinging that they have no Resident Evil Exclusives (obviously forgetting they have Resident Evil Outbreak File 1 & 2).. still 1.4 million PS2 gamers complained about this.

Then Capcom decided that if the PS2 got it, so should the X-Box.
From what I've heard the PS2 version sucks, the developers are having a hard time trying to keep the detail up, let alone provide anywhere close to the same graphics.

You compare Outbreak to Resident Evil 4.. well it's just a joke.

I think the X-Box game from Square-Enix is going to be Kingdom Hearts 3, it's most likely given the previous Kingdom Hearts games.
They're FF-Style without being real FF.

I want to see a REAL FF on the GameCube... it could easily handle FFXI. Perhaps it'd need 4 GameDiscs but then so did Final Fantasy 8 & 9 on the PS1.

According to Gamespot, Resident Evil 4 is a lot better than Outbreak...
Look at their scores :

Resident Evil Outbreak : 7.2
Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 : 6.6

Resident Evil 4 : 9.6



Personally, I've never tried any of them, so my opinion wouldn't matter.

Why do you think that? The publishers wouldn't earn as much as if they released the game to the Xbox too. Look at it from their point of view.

My opinion on the picutres that were released is so-so. Those don't look like physical pictures more so illustrations of high quality because Ourcolony.net has posted up pictures of the memory cards in the slots and what not and it looked okay... Plus it was more silver that some metallic teal color.

I have a PS2 now so am probably gonna get outbreak as well - but I agree, I think Res4 should be gamecube only, it's made perfect by the GC controller, I doubt other versions will have the same look and feel.

I'm playing through round 2, with Ashley wearing her Britney outfit and the unlimited rockets just $800,000 away - I'm on the creepy little gypsy village (the part with the 2 paths), damn it's tough to kill those 2 crazy chainsaw wenches - that's right after the very cool lake monster. I love the slight delay when the chainsaw hits your neck, chainsaw dudes are definately the worst, all you need to do is get caught reloading!. The way you can take care of the enemies is great though, all those idiots in Dawn of the Dead and 28 days who get themselves killed need to play this - I mean, why did nobody find a ladder in 28 days and just sit at the top with a sharp stick? - zombies soon get sick of being stabbed in the face!. I'm one of those guys who reckons he could handle a zombie invasion, just as long as theirs plenty milk and biscuits in.

I think each console should have it's own incarnation of a res evil game, like the PS2 could have a faster shoot-em up game, the XBox could have a first person type thing - but leave the style of res4 with the gamecube.

They're concept Renders, because MTV has the rights to show the physical machine off first. We're still waiting for the unvieling day though.

Who cares how much they earn.. They promised us Resident Evil 4 was only for the GameCube, oh but wait we've had some angry PS2 owners on ... now we're making it multi-platform. Just annoys the hell out of me.

Either promise something to be exclusive and stick to it, or don't promise it.

Honestly I'm not really impressed with Outbreak. It's a good distraction, and I'm thinking of getting File #2 too, but still it just doesn't come close to how awesome RE4 is.

The ending was one of the best too I think..

"Hey Leon after this is over, and we're back at my place.. How about some 'overtime'."

As Leon kinda burnt her on that (which I'm pretty sure I'd of had to think twice about lol), I now want to know what the hell the deal with him and Ada is!

I mean in RE2 you find out only a little snippet. Something happened during the 6years between... and I want to know what!

Hmm...interesting. I think it looks kind of cool, but too much like a computer and not a gaming console. And but I don't think the controller looks very comfortable at all.

It will me shown on MTV May 12th, not May 18th as Raven suggested. On XBox.com they have a countdown timer to their "big announcement" on MTV. So this Thursday!

Did they build in the xbox communicator?

If you look at the bottom part of that controller it looks as if it's some sort of jack, and by the size of it etc, i think it just might be.

It's their webcam for Xbox Live, which was already released in Japan. I believe they will have games like EyeToy for PS2.

Yes it is. and that's still only WIP, and it's one of the first next-gen games. I think the games will get better and better as the developers get used to the new consoles.
