Hi there. Im not asking for help, but giving tips on sound creation, seeing as there are no posts related. First off, Im cheap so i use Audacity, (which is totally free and quite good). www.hitsquad.com>shareware music machine> audio editors> Audacity 1.2.3 THE TIPS:

Weapons: for gunshots, there are many things you can do. I like to mak sfx with my mouth, so i preffer quickly breathing into ur mic. You can also drop heavy items next to the mic or recorder Careful! For lasers, u can whistle, then use wahwah, phaser, change pitch... u know.

Interface: like when a cursor hovers over button. Some cool hollow sounds can be made by snapping your fingers. Cut out the background noises and change the pitch. I made some cool beeps.

Speech: I DESPISE HEARING MY OWN VOICE!!! i never ever record myself speaking, so i have no effects for u. Try getting books on chorus or effective speaking. Whats fun is chopping up sound of conversations of people talking that u recorded when they dont know...lol i have to much time. Cut out portions of their speech and reply that over and over on full blast. watch their reaction. (ok that was randomly off topic )

Notes: obviously, it would be easier to just go to sounddogs dot com, but i like to make my own sounds, especially out of natural sounds. And of course there are better programs out there, and for music, your probably not gonna wanna use audacity... Well i have to go, so i left out some things, probably, but if u have any tips for ppl for making sounds on ANY program, feel free to respond. Cheers.

For voices I've always found that if you try to talk a little raspy and then lower the pitch slightly and add a bass boost it makes you sound more masculine, as long as you're not cracking or anything.
