I always thought the moderaters were here on the forums to help out people and give hints or help other people when they ask it, but I was wrong. A moderater, which I wont say, was discriminating my website only becuase he/she didn't like it. My site is a game model site and other game-related topics. Whats wrong with that??? All I wanted is to let the word out and he/she said that it was pointless to have a site like that cuz only about 1 person registered there. SO WHAT?? TGC probably started out small. And so did every other site! My other post was locked becuase I was telling others about my site. If people don't want to read they don't have to its not like im making a pop-up on the site or anything. If you want to read the post even though it is locked so you can't reply to anything on it here it is but this post im writeing now isn't like a hate post to ANY of the moderaters even the one that locked my post. I'm not mad i just think its really dumb to do that. Also the post is in general talk so i can talk about anything that doesnt really fit in other boards i wasnt sure which one to go to so i chose general talk but anyway the post is here,

Did anyone see a period?

[edit] also you might want to make a nicer site and put more content on it before asking people to come register on your forums...

see the site in my sig? i haven't asked anybody to go there

Metel - Advertising websites is against forum policy (because web sites may not go where someone states). If you dont like it, tough.

this is what he/she said
Quote: "Pimping forums has got to stop - this is a forum, people who come here already have a freakin forum to come to - nobody is daft enough to go to a forum with 5 guests and 1 active user and think, ''cool!, this is much better than apollo, I think I'll upload all my best media here!''."

Even if it is against forum policy he/she still could have been alot more nicer about it.

Yes, moderaters CAN be mean. But the whole website issue is understandable. However, i think mods are useless(except a few), sure they are there to lock something every once in a while, but the world would not come to an end if they were not there. Useless posts would not be "all over flooding the forum" as they seem to think, there are not all that many really, just people asking questions.

We should scrap the mods and let the best speakers rule! Although this will never happen (until rich mysteriously disappears), i will go on dreaming about it.

I've heard some funny sentances, but that is pretty good.

So, your an anarchist, eh ? Lets just say, that if your idea does come to fruition, you wouldn't be able to move for spam, dodgy web sites, irrelevant posts and general stupid stuff. You should have to see the dodgy stuff that is dealt with...

well actually mods are pointless becuase no posts EVER get deleted. They just get locked there still there just no one can reply to them so if there was no one to lock a post nothing would really happen it would just stay the same. but the only good thing about moderaters is they do ban bad people from being idiots and things like that but thats all they really do there just normal people with a few extra things that there able to do. so even if mods were gone, (which will never happen) it wouldnt change a thing to my oppinion.

How would you know if things get deleted? They are hidden from view...

Anarchy all the way! (in forums of course). Who cares about all this "dodgy stuff", there would still be plenty of useful posts as there are today. About web sites containing bad stuff...its the users faulth for going to it if something bad happens.

Bring on the anarchy!

Yes, they do - you wont always see them 'cos they've been deleted. I generally make a post so the delete post isn't displayed on the last post list.

Legal requirements...

Anyway, I'm locking this now. VanB can impart pearls of wisdom for you all later.

Mr.Brick,
Cheers, was out last night so missed this.

Metel,
That post was honest, not mean. I did'nt even check your site, because I was at work when I found your post and you could be anyone. Perhaps I did'nt have to be so direct with my comments, but this thread would have been made regardless.

All the moderators here are experienced DB forum users, like people who've made thousands of posts before the users here speak up for their choices when Rich is recruiting mods. That means we know what works in a forum like this, we know the rules, we know what threads turn out flamebait and we know what threads are useless...

...and we know when a user is gonna come back and complain because that's practically everytime I lock a post that goes outwith the guidelines.

You came onto the forum asking for media and forum members for your own website, yet I don't remember seeing another post by you - that post with that attitude would have ended in flamebait. If I had deleted it, you'd just come along and post a duplicate.

Says the person protected by a post approval system and a 24/7 mod team

You have no idea how much spam, trolling and other crap the mods filter out every day kid

Ask anyone who's been around long enough to remember geri, bloodbubble or pucker22 and they'll tell you that the approval system and large mod team are a great asset.
