I know this isn't that new but: (Also saw on TV a few weeks ago)

http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/science/04/12/killing.wildcats.ap/

All for some stupid birds?

Screw the birds.

My views are mixed on this. (But still on the opposing side)
I do realize stray cats are a big problem to the community. And yes apparantly some people really like birds. But hunting them?
(No this is not a thread to start discussing your Pet Cat)

The americans would shoot anything. Well, when the rats start multiplying exponentialy(oh yes I went there) I'm sure they'll think differently. I'm sure.

And what the hell is up with that man? Why has he got that insane look about him?

I don't care if they shoot wild cats...i'd just be worried about it extending accidentally to pet cats...for example my cat doesn't wear a collar...whenever we put one on her she manages to get it off...

if my cat gets shot...let's just say somebody's going to pay...

Give me a gun, and I'll hunt down the man that started all this. Then I'm going to finish the rest of the cat hunters off, one by one.

why hunt for them???

It would be a lot more fun to round them up and corral them in a walled in area and let people club them.

Kitty Clubbing!!

They could charge admission, offer snacks... Fun for the whole family!
Senior discounts of course. And children eat free. Batter up!

Each month they could have a new theme.

Bunny Bashing sounds hella fun!

It's true. Cats are also naturally attracted to the warm monitor and the hum of your PC....

But the cat hunting thing is crazy. My 2 cats always wander outside without a collor or ID. And just think about it: Random people on the street/park with rifles...

I don't know what you keep as pets up in canada, but your average housecat does not look like your average puma.

hmm, we could give special guns designed for cats to all the cats in america, then they can fight back if under attack then it will end up in some big war between cats and humans.... hmmm <heads off to the drawing board with game idea> wow, terminator style.

Plus i have 3 cats and 3 dogs, and a budgie... im not taking sides for humans or animals... but i say at least make the fight fair

hmmm... are there any cat models included with FPSC??? If so, the product might have just sparked some interest for me.

And don't be fooled by soft, fluffy creatures. Remember...
(paraphrased: from bad memory)

Where is this beast? I can't see it?
What do you mean it's right there outside the cave.
Where behind the rabbit?
It's ferocious...It can leap... and it has sharp fangs like this.
But it's merely a bunny rabbit.
...

Prepare the Holy Grenade.

awe someone with fpsc mock up a demo of Kitten Hunter.

I think your crazy. Cats ARE NOT as important as human. Not even as important as: food, beer, education, my toilet, or even...DOGS.

Not important to YOU. They are not important but anyone but themselves. We aren't important to them either you know. I'm not talking about pets, I'm talking about animals being allowed to live.

Truthfully, for me, if a bunch of people in a movie die a horribly bloody death, I could care less. But when an animal dies, I run out of Kleenexes in 2 seconds.

hmm. felines are too close to humans on a genetic level. we've all heard about diseases jumping the speices barrier and remember cat's can carry the equivilent of HIV (FIV) however they do have a purpose. not as pets. but as natural vermin eliminators. this is the purpose they serve. not to give some human cuddles. or crawl all over your pc kit generating masses of static. they only live with you because you feed them, giving them an easy life. that's not what nature made them for. theres nothing more disgusting than a fat lazy house cat. and if you want to keep cats out of your patch, it's simple. grate some orange rind and sprinkle it around your garden. also half filling bottles with water and leaving them on their sides really freaks a cat out bcause of the way it interprates the light refractions. there's nothing worse than the smell of a cat peeing on your stuff. and if it does a slash on your lovely lawn then your lawn is goosed.

also, when a non cat owner enters a house with cats, 9 times out of 10 they will smell it as soon as they walk through your front door. yup your house smells like cats urine.

oh and as for neutering your cat. you should have your nads trapped in a vice for even thinking about it.

Somewhat off topic, but for all conspircy theorists here (get your tin-foil hats ready), I can prove that a Dalek is really a cat in disguise :

A) Both are killers
B) Both can move along the ground and upstairs
C) Both have defensive systems
D) Both fight amongst themselves
E) Speed up a Dalek talking and it sounds like a cat.
F) Both loyal to The Supreme Leader
G) Both come in various colours, mainly of black...
H) Both have ears, except on a cat they dont flash.

That's a pretty big statement. Considering we had Prohibition, yet no law that banned cats.

Crap. -_-
Just what I was worried about. This thread turned mostly to people raving about thier cool house cats.

i used to know this crazy bird who dyed her cat electric blue. one of the coolest things i ever saw man. and watching a cat OD on catnip is one of the funniest things a human can witness.
