Hiya,

I've got this really annoying bug on my home PC that I'm stumped over. Basically the clipboard disapears up it's own butt after I've been using my PC for a while, like I can copy stuff - but then it won't allow me to paste it. This goes for everything from file copying in explorer to copying and pasting in PSP. This problem persists no matter what I do, until I reboot. I have 512mb memory, and I'm only really using PSP and Deep Exploration - that can't be enough to kill the clipboard, I use Win2kPro BTW.
I'm thinking it must be an internal .dll problem or a particularly slap-worthy virus.

I have done full scans for spyware and viruses, but to no avail.

Any ideas for stuff to try would be most welcome, cheers.

I suspect one (or more programs) is taking control of the clipboard (and registering its on types thus preventing pasting).

What do you have running at the time ?

Hard to say really, I've been doing a lot of texturing recently so PSP, PS, DBPro, and Deep Exploration at the very most. I'll investigate more when it starts happening again. Google image searching as well though - I wonder if there's some nasty protection somewhere that I'm picking up, like to stop you from copying images on websites, it might block the clipboard permanently or something.

If you are using internet explorer then there are some sites that empty the clipboard to stop you coping images. Try using any other browser, I'm sure ie is the only one stupid enough to let sites mess with the clipboard.

If you are using Blue IDE it will clear the clipboard sometimes depending on other applications running.

That may very well be true but I only use IE and have never ran into this problem with it.
