Anyone know how to approach this? Say I have a game and I hit the pause button, how can I put the word "PAUSED" on the screen but make it flash at a steady rate and not lag the game, so when I push the unpause button it goes right back into play. Even if you don't know the specific code, what ideas would you have? I'd prefer to try and do it myself but I'm not sure where to even begin with this. Thanks in advance. By the way, this is in DBPro and deals with strictly 2D, not 3D.

Thank you for the reply Apolloed, I will definitely take that approach and see what I can come up with. I actually forgot all about the timer() command .
