Quote: "Seeing as IE is clearly their primary commercial enterprise product that brings in the majority of their funds, that makes perfect sense!"
LMFAO... $50 says the original poster doesn't get it.
Quote: "I was the first one to support Firefox."
Over FireFoxes development, it has changed names more than Courtney Cox has appeared in court. If you've been such a long standing supporter, tell me what the name was prior to the current (0.7+ Beta) incarnation.
Amongst those who have used it for far longer than most people even knew it existed, it is pretty much a long standing joke about it's name changes.
Quote: "a/ Firefox takes too long to start up--when I get the urge to check the forums or to download something, I want it up NOW! Firefox takes like 5 secs on my compy compared with the 0.6 sec or so with Mozilla."
Mozilla and FireFox have identical boot code. They both take just as long to commit to memory and start, if they don't then you much be using Mozilla '2.0 BS Edition'
Quote: "b/ Mozilla is being updated along with Firefox, so there's no real worries about loopholes. Especialy considering the gigiantic ones that IE has "
Although FireFox uses a majority of Mozilla code, they're not developed, maintained or updated by the same teams. FireFox and Mozilla do have seperate vunerabilities and updates. So... wrong on the second count. Let's see if you can go 3 for 3.
Quote: "c/ I don't trust the Firefox download manager for some reason. I'd rather have a choice or "open in default app, search for ways to open, or download to disc" instead of this auto d/l to desktop stuff. Sure I d/l stuff to my desktop a lot, but there's a lot of times when I want it to go stright into my music folder, or into my programming folder.."
Oh so close, but the default option is to download to your Cache THEN decide what to do with the file. As it makes no odds to the end user except you have to actually acknowlage it downloaded and set your options afterwards... well it's just backwards but does identically what IE does.
Quote: "Really? I always thought it was....a...uhmn....erm....FireFox(fox with firey looking tail)?"
Depends how old his version is doesn't it.
Quote: "Firefox rules. IE sucks.
All I know is that after using IE for a year, my family had 1400 objects found in an adware scan.
They've been on firefox for 8 months now and there have been zero since. Except that one, but it came from a downloaded application."
I know that in the lifetime of Mozilla, Explorer, and FireFox...
All three have only provided me with Spyware warnings on occasions people have sent me links over MSN that send me to some warez or porn site. (habit of clicking while doing something then check what the heck it is later)
The only times I've EVER had virus have been through email, or custom delivered.
From my point of view, when just generally surfing the internet without going to any of these back-alley websites... all of the browsers are perfectly safe. Because I'm not venturing in to retard country.
With Explorer you know when your about to have a warning pop-up, it's when the pop-ups get through the guard, for Mozilla & FireFox however, the first warning I get is from my Firewall software telling me something is trying to do something it shouldn't be.
