Hi all,
Sorry to complain, but it annoyed me when my \"Team Request\" was locked, even after following the guidelines, and me being told it was OK by one moderator only to be locked by another. The request is here: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=52378&b=8
(The following quotes are from here: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=team_requests)
Did I not:
Quote: "You MUST have something to show for the project so far"

I have a 448 post WIP for pirates. I have a website with information and screenshots. I also have a team that has 4 members, which was created before the \"Team Request\" board was locked. (Luckily I was able to get another person before that thread was locked).

Quote: "Team Requests that say things along the lines of \"We need 6 animators, 10 3D artists, 4 programers and 2 musicians\" are locked and/or deleted on sight, right after we\'ve had a good laugh at them."

I didn\'t ask for a certain number, all I did was ask for \"3D modellers\"

Quote: "Please please please do NOT post messages along the lines of \"I\'m the CEO of BS Games Corporation and we\'re hiring X,Y,Z\"."

I didn\'t say anything about that.

Quote: "Long plot lines / stories do NOT qualify
"

I dont have either of those.

Quote: "Do not offer money or the promise of \"future riches\"
"

Nope, not that either.

Lastly:
Quote: "We allow them in the follow boards only:
Work in Progress
General Talk
DarkBASIC Professional Discussion *
DarkBASIC Discussion * "

And where did I post mine, \"Work in Progress\"

Before I made this thread I made another one asking assurance it would be OK. Heres what I got:
Quote: "Make a new WIP post with more specific model requirement details, like post up some screenshots of the media and ask for help in there.

We really don\'t want team requests invading 3D chat, even if it is a solid project that already has a WIP thread - problem is that the first succesful TR in the 3D forum will be an invitation for everyone to do the same, well structured TR\'s inbeside WIP threads are about the safest place for them and the place that tends to get a lot of traffic.

And even this one didnt completely dissaprove, but offered a possible alternative:
Quote: "Gil,
TBH, you\'re probably ALOT better off if you take the time out over the next few days and scour the boards looking for a good modeler there, then contact him/her privatly, expressing interest in their work, and giving a short blurb on what you\'re after from them.
If they respond positivly, send over some more info, such as screen shots, more specific details on what you want them to do, etc.
Then, if you have him/her hooked by then, you\'re set

It just generally works out better, and less hot ( flames ) if you go looking for people, rather than have them look for your work

Jess.
"

Thanks for reading. It just made me mad that it was locked, even after I met all requirements.

Video games…they can take you places unreachable, impossible, unfeasible. They put you in the book...they put you in the movie...they put you in a world, a world that before could only be imagined.

I believe that was an honest mistake on RPGgamer's part as he probably hadn't heard the latest rule changes with team requests yet, so I went ahead and unlocked it for you.

You team posters need some sort of Geneva Convention or something.

Or just stop posting TRs. Either will work.

Facts are meaningless.
You could use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true.

Whats wrong with a good team request? You need some way to get a team together. If they were just more regulated it would be better. And that "Team Request Rules" website says that its ok as long as you follow the guidelines. I dont see whats wrong if you post a good request, which mine was, because it met all the rules.

It could encourage less intelligent team requests by noobs.]

EDIT: Crap, i thought the sig image limit was 600x160! Oh well.

Your signature has been erased by a mod because it's larger than 600x120....

Team request regulations are now much stricter than in the past. I honestly don't blame RPGamer for being paranoid. (Esp after the Request board got locked up)

Yeah im glad they are stricter, but shouldnt be competely taken away. Im not mad at RPGamer for locking it, he didnt know and he was probably told to lock all team request threads.

This issue has been resolved, there's no point reiterating the same thing over and over.
