Quote: "But alas ... If you take a screen shot of the best XBox game and compare it to the best XBox 360 game, graphically they would be similar."
Guess we've been looking at difference screens of games. Cause from where I've been sitting the last 4years the X-Box graphics can't even live up to the GameCube. Let alone the PC, which the X-Box 360 just blows away in one foul swoop.
Quote: "What I think they should do, instead of putting out new systems every year and bringing up the hype and only having really one or two good games (X-box) is bring out a console that you can program,"
What the hell are you people talking about?
PS2 - Mid 2000
GameCube / X-Box - Early 2001
All of the replacements are being released basically 2006 (X-Box 360 in November which really most people won't have it until 2006)
This would be the unwritten 5year Generation mark, that Sega & Nintendo have instituted. All of the consoles on the market are becomming beyond age-ed.
FGS the X-Box is considered the TOP-END system, yet are you all forgetting it is STILL running on Shader 1.1/1.3 which quite frankly is a pain in the arse to get the modern effects on.
It's processor runs at 733MHz.. most modern PCs are running at 2.6 Equivilant if not faster!
You people demand heaven & earth from your games.. which fine for the PC you can just run out and buy a new processor.
How exactly do you expect to have hundred and hundred of Physics Bodies running at a decent framerate on an X-Box; PLUS have that goreous landscape and amazing visuals.
All of the games with the best graphics on the X-Box are limited in other areas. Honestly the current most powerful solution is the Gamecube, but noooooooooooooooooo no one wants that console.. because it's no X-Box or PS2.
Yeah both of those consoles haven't evolved jack all in the last 5 years... all they've done is provide the same-old, same-old. Just with new graphics. Oh wow well give them a medal for having the arbitry Sequals and stealing franchises away from the PC.
pfft! it's about time both brands were overhauled and rather than focusing on providing gamers with the status quo they need to shake up the industry again.
X-Box and PS2 fanboys piss me off.. god knows why the hell they've sold so well over the last 5years. No one ever talks about the GameCube or what Revolution could mean for the industry.
It's like Nintendo have been given a Failiar certificate on this new system before it's even released.
Oh you seen Resident Evil 4 on the X-Box and PS2 news recently? No? You know why? Cause no matter how the hell inventive developers are, they're never getting them to look the same on those aging hunks of plastic.
