The one I was going to take

Almost half a million GCSE exam papers are being replaced following an "inadvertent spillage" from one delivery van and a theft from another.
The security breaches affect a dozen exams in science, history and French set by the AQA exam board.

They are due to be taken by students next month. Replacement papers are being printed and sent out.

AQA has apologised to schools and colleges for the inconvenience. It says students should carry on as normal

What a shame.

I'm sure many students were dying to do that paper.

It's M-E-G-A-T-O-N. NOT MEGATRON.

Erm, Routine Year 10 exams I think...I dont even think they are the mocks...I think they just base our predicted grades off them, for getting into college with...They were still hard though!

Well, they arent very formal, and so not all year 10's across the country would be doing them at the same time... As whats the point, anyone can view the paper!

You can bet I'm in IRC right now...

I did year 10 exams about now, but I'm in year 11 now..so what subjects do I have with AQA?

-DT
-French
-English
-ICT half

On the subject of ICT I got an E in the coursework ironic for the level of time I spend on computers...the teacher is rather crap (sh*te is not bad language! ish) but the marks are ridiculous, I did 32 pages..my friend did far exceeding 100 to just get an A (not worth it I think)....basically I can redeem myself by getting an A* in the exam and getting a C overall

EDIT: There was a space in a word

Ask her then

In history I find the writing stuff down bit notably harder than remembering it, so whether it's knowledge-based or source-based makes no real difference

Thing is, they have next year's exams waiting in the wings so they can bring them in.

I do all AQA apart from english who I do with edexcel - their papers look a mess (edexcel that is). I mean come on, Times New Roman 12pt, how original.

GSCE's in the UK go from A-H (depending on your tier). Technically speaking they go down to U (but thats total fail)

A*=really good
A=Very good
B=Good
C=OK (In higher tier that is 'satisfactory')
---------------------Higher tier cut-off line
D=OK/Below average
E=Below average
F=Failure/poor
---------------------Medium tier cut-off line
G=Poor (L.E.E tier level)
H=Extremely poor (<15%. Lower education range)
---------------------Lower tier/special needs cut-off line
U=Total fail (0%)

Alot of people dont know that they go from A*-H (then to U). Apparently there made to cater for all ability ranges

I'm going for all A*/A's. I've already got an A GNVQ ICT (which is worth 4 GCSEs), A in 7 modular science exams (plus one B which was one mark away from an A). A in all of my coursework, barring History where I got an A* as I got 100% from both pieces.

I just find exams easy really, I usually finish them an hour early and get As without trying.

I never got that. How can something be worth 4 GCSEs? Does it get written 4 times on your certificate?

I'm mocking ICT.........

...well I'm in my ICT lesson now and my teacher just said that when you have "4 or 5 processes running, your PC slows down because the RAM is becoming more full"

My friend and I almost fell off our seats laughing

However he is much better than I at explaining things to chavs, and until then wasn't very wrong He was explaining the difference between ROM and RAM

I managed to escape doing French (thank God), but I had to do RE - which isn't so bad as my RE teacher is my favourite. I was forced to take a technology subject though (Tech Colledge) so I'm doing Systems and Control.

My IT teacher is really, really nasty. He's a peado. He ignores all the boys in our class and 'helps' the girls. I've ended up helping a lot of people in the class just to get C's, and most of the time he has a go at me for being out of my seat while I do this!

Chavs should all die.

My sympathies j/k I don't think being forced to do things like Tech is right. I can understand if they want everybody to have core usbjects like sciences, english, matsh but Tech?!?

My IT teacher keeps telling me to take A Lvl. maths etc. The truth is, that although I love IT, I hate Maths!

Its stupid, yes; because the two are closely linked. But its just the way I am.

My teacher just smells. An he's very slow too (at moving around) so everyone just ends up asking me for help (which I dont mind because everyone atcually has a go at their work before asking me I hate that feeling when your just being 'exploited' - girls persaude me to help them by flirting with me [the chavs at least])

There's a certain maths teacher in my school that hates me..my coursework was internally moderated so she got it pulled down to a high A from A* Still with an A* in both exams she can go eat her pie!

If you want an IT job which is reasonably well paid, maths is pretty much essential. The trouble with the maths-lite elements of IT is that everybody else can do them as well.

Maths is a requirement of many uni courses, and since it has a reputation for being 'difficult', employers will regard it more highly than A-Level IT. I never had the opportunity of studying A-Level IT, and I asked the CompSci professors about it whilst applying for my uni courses, they really do not rate it highly.

Yeah I agree with that. The Cambridge admissions people said any sort of vocational course (eg IT and god forbid ICT) isn't really advised at A Level). Subjects that emphasise the more technical skills, such as A Level Computing could be useful they said.

I still ended up with Further Maths (yay!), Physics and Chemistry
