*sniffle*

I'm down... so very, very down...

Also, do you have an SMTP server? If not, could you set one up pretty please?

I've got a Mail-Back system for the dbHelp files where new comments and commands are emailed to me so I don't have to waste hours searching the database for new items

Thanks Jimmy

[edit] Went to have a look at the site, realized they're just toys, not skinned road-kill.

Erm, Jimmy, when I go to my site:

http://avanmadisen.dbspot.com

I get this:

Quote: "Place holder for avanmadisen.dbspot.com

Congratulations on choosing DBSpot.com!

Note: This page can easily be replaced with your own page. Use your favorite FTP application to move your website to your web server at avanmadisen.dbspot.com.

To replace this page, transfer your new content to the directory /avanmadisen/web.
Be certain the name of the file for your new home page is: index.html, index.php or index.cgi

web://cp - Web Hosting Control Panel
You can now administer your Web Site through the URL http://avanmadisen.dbspot.com/webcp or directly http://avanmadisen.dbspot.com/domaincp for domain administration and http://avanmadisen.dbspot.com/personalcp for user & e-mail settings.
You should bookmark this page for future use and tell your users."

Plus SmartFTP won't log into it, it did two days ago and I haven't changed anything!

WTF is going on?!

Has my site been nuked?

Damn what was a quick response, soooooo... when will the backups be back? Or do I have to do it myself?

About the login, thanks!

I see that there are many folders now when I use logon using SmartFTP. My question is which folder do I upload my content too, to be downloaded off the forums?

Web? You mean like a 'spider web'? You mean like 'Spider-Man?' You mean like the movie called 'Spider-Man'? You mean like 'Toby Maguire'? You mean "I should stop now before I make myself sick"? Ok.

Hi. For a while i didn't get the placeholder screen at all, but now i do. The problem is, I never got the initial email when I applied for my subdomain. What should i do? Could you send it again, or should I ditch my subdomain and register again?

Jimmy, has there been a major change as to how the hosting is handled, because if there has, I haven't been told...

Before I just uploaded everything into the main folder with SmartFTP, but now you say we've got to upload to the 'web' folder.

Also, you didn't answer my question, do I have to re-upload my site again? If so, it is to the 'web' folder, right?

PS: I realise you got sick of stupid questions before, but I'm asking these questions because I'm genuinely stumped, not stupid!

[edit] heh, I know now why you hate stupid questions, Jimmy. Next time I should read things properly.

Wait.. so you figured it out?

Yes, it is much different now, I had to use a free control panel, I would have restored everyone's sites but as you can see, the directory structure is different from before so I can't just extract the archive. I have to manually upload 60+ websites, individually and i'm just plain too lazy and impatient for that. I do have recent backups however, so if you need me to restore them, contact me.

Yup, Jimmy, I figured it out, not surprised are you? I've got my site back up and spinning, although I would like to ask: of the new folders added (mainly those in the 'web' folder, such as 'cgi-bin', 'errors' and 'stats') would your advice be "Leave 'em alone." or can I delete any of them and would it cause problems if I did delete one or two?

Again, I'm asking because in my opinion there's no such thing as stupid question, it's better to ask a stupid question and be laughed at then to live in ignorance!
