Ali, maybe I wasn't very clear about what I said. I'm not talking about passing traffic. That kind of traffic is prety much a waste of bandwidth. For example, I could generate links for my site that are totally unrelated, but attract the kind of people I wouldn't spit on if they were on fire.
Returning traffic is generated by having a content-rich site. You need to give users a reason to come back, and keep coming back.
If you want to sell me software on a regular basis, I want to know what the benefits are of coming back to you, and not to somebody else. I want to know what added value I get, whether you can help me make the most of my software, if I can get hints and tips from your other customers, upgrades, add-ons, share my results via your site, discuss the cons as well as the pros, and so on.
If all you want to do to is sell me the software and nothing else...see you later.
