Lately I have been working extensively with PHP/MySql along with web site design. Now I am offering my web design and development skills to you absolutely free at no charge.

WHY?
Simply put, I am doing this to build a portfolio for myself to advance my career. Noticing that it is rather hard to get hired on a paid job with no proof of experience, I got to thinking there must be a way to get proof, and here it is, offering my services to the web community absolutely free...or possibly a small fee of $0.00

CATCH?
The only catch to this is I will require a small link(either text or image) pointing back to my website. Along with this I also must have your permission to use your web site in my portfolio once I am done with it.

WHAT?
The break-down of services that I will offer:
Design Set - Custom design templates suited to fit your website
Design - HTML and CSS to add design elements to the site/page
Browser-Scripting - Free Javascript coding to allow for quick interactive site elements
Server Scripting - PHP coding to make the site fully interactive in many possible ways
MySql DB - Working with MySql/PHP combination to allow for database driven content
Graphics - Making custom designed graphics with the Adobe Photoshop CS program.

I NEED?
The items you must already have(depending on which services):
-Web Hosting
-Subdomain, Domain, Subdirectory name
-PHP Allowance
-MySql database or MySql database capability
-Instant Messaging Software

HOW?
Currently I will only be able to work on one project at a time so it is first come, first serve. Must also have one of AIM,MSN,YIM,ICQ instant messaging programs. Will not work through email communication at this time for the reason that I will need fast communication for being some of my first projects. If you are interested in any of my services, please contact me via one of the previously mentioned instant messaging programs.

Mods: I did not think this was against forum terms as all services are free, but if I am mistaken, feel free to lock or delete this thread.

Although I'm not interested I'll say it's a bloody good idea. Seeming as this is a free service I think it should stay unlocked

Hey Apolloed, I could use your services for sure, and I'll give a link to you no problem. If you browse over to http://www.jakejensen.com you will see that it is the simplest design ever, and it isn't even close to being complete. It will basically be for my own portfolio (programming and music), and I need a nice, minimalist design. Care to try?

I like the simple design of moby.com, and you can use that for a reference if you'd like (i.e. the header buttons)

If you want to add me to MSN, my account is jake@SPAMSUCKSjeku.com

Thanks!

Muhuhahaha!

@Leys - Great job on the template, man! I will definitely use it. I might fool around with it and change 1 or 2 things (like the font), but other than that it looks great Thanks!

@Jeku: some stuff came up so I haven't been able to work on it a whole lot, and tonight I have to go auction off a car. However, late tonight I should be able to work on it some more...like set up designs for each page and such, I will also get it to work better on high-res browsers, because now it will look about the same in IE and FF, but only on resolutions of 1024x768 or lower. As soon as I get back I should be able to fix that problem though, then I will send you any/all file if you wish to use it.

Also, if anyone would like a design, I will also take requests through email now if it includes EVERYTHING you want to take into consideration when im designing the site.

However, this is just for designs, as for scripting/programming, I still need you to have an instant messanger program as it take alot more communication to get it all set up as desired.

That's all for now,

-David Leys

The name Jake Jensen is said too much. No offence, but it began to give me a headache when I read it (thats not your fault though)

Nothing wrong with the name...not bad actually..

Megatons design is great but I haven't seen the other one

Annoying thing is I'm capable of making nice sites, just don't have many nice ideas anymore

@Megaton - Wow, that design looks great, too! I especially like the fonts and the minimalist look. If I even had 10% design skill then I would be happy. Would you mind sending me that template in a zip or something? I also like the shading around the main table.

Leys - Cool, I will probably use his, then. No offense

Quote: " The name Jake Jensen is said too much. No offence, but it began to give me a headache when I read it "

EDIT: Ahh ok now I understand what you meant. Yes, since the new layout has all the text in the main table, I will remove most of the redundant 'Jake Jensen' instances

Heh thanks for the nice comments!

Here's the RAR.
http://www.prodigygames.co.uk/web/jeku/site.rar

Just replace all the pages and text with your own.

EDIT: Hmmm...or you could have "File->Save as" on Index.htm
Ohwell. Either way works.

EDIT#2: Er...if you do end up using the design, could you leave me a credit somewhere?

Or you could use php. A simple Get, And Switch case. All you have to have is plain .txt files with the content in.

Easy as pie. hmmmmm, Pie.

Anyway heres a code I just wrote for you.
Add this bit to the top bit of the site.

Add the next bit where you would add content in the page.
Dont forget to Change and add cases.

Thanks , Eddie

Of course Even though it may seem weird to have someone else design my portfolio, I make no qualms about my lack of design skills. (here's the only good site I ever designed: http://www.threemovieguys.com/) What would you like the credit to say and link to? I can put it at the bottom of the pages.

@Jeku: Nevermind, you don't need to leave a credit anywhere.
I wouldn't want any of your future employers to wonder why some random kid designed your site.

Hehehe, well I seriously don't mind putting a link in there. I seriously tell interviewers that my design skills are not that great, but I make up for it with coding skills. They understand
