Hey all,

First off, My names Daniel, I go to Cooper HS and Enjoy Online gaming, Although i know lots of HTML and Some Java Script i want to get into Darkbasic programming, And i dont know where to start, i bought Darkbasic and got the 1.3 Update but i cant find any tutorials that start from pure n00b perspective. Any suggestions? I'm looking for a logical walkthrough that i can relate towards that starts from Newbie Perspective. and am willing to pay for one if needed. I'm going towards VB programming as my career elective in High School and would like to be working with MS Access sometime but i think DB can be the way to learn some of the essentials of Basic as well as keep up on my Algebra haha =).

So if anyone knows of any links to guides or whatnot, i would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks all =).

What are you talking about?

Click the resourses tab at the top, that should help you out.

Am I a butterfly dreaming I'm a man?
Or a bowling ball dreaming I'm a plate of samishi?

Heh, that kinda sucks that your HS teaches VB, meh...I had to teach myself....Well my school is poor, thats probably why lmao...

Anyway, the FIRST thing you should ever do when you are a 'noob' at something is RTFM!!

Trust me, it helps. Just read, test commands, read, test commands...ask questions if you don't get something, thats what the newcomers's corner is for..

Below are some sites that might help you out:

3d Modelling Apps:

http://www.anim8or.com/ - free, but I suggest Milkshape.

http://www.swissquake.ch/chumbalum-soft/ - around $20, like I said, I suggest this, it rocks..

http://www.discreet.com/products/gmax/ - free, based on Discreet's 3d Studio Max.

3d Modelling Tutorial Sites:

http://www.3dcafe.com/ - great site for all kinds of tutorials.

http://www.planetquake.com/qworkshop3/tutorials/ - skinning and modelling tutorials.

Image editing apps:

http://www.adobe.com/ - only thing I use

http://www.jasc.com/ - paint shop pro - good alternative to photoshop.

DarkBasic Related:

http://www.realgametools.net/forums/ - great site, lots of tutorials and code snippets to learn from as well as people to bother.

http://www.dbheaven.com/ - more snippets/tutorials.

http://www.darkbasic.com/create/bm_tutorials/ - great new tutorial on building a complete game from the ground up.

Heh, I think this might help...

Also, I'm felling helpful so you can email me if ya have anymore questions...epidemicz@myrealbox.com
