I made up a language and all the characters that represent most of the characters in the English Alphabet, is there any way to type in a word in an input and then have that word translated in to the other language?
Or is there a way to have it so that when you press a it pastes a bitmap image of the letter on to the screen?

For example:
when you hit the "a" key it pastes a character that looks like
this:

and then when you press the "b" key it will paste a bitmap image to the screen that looks like this:

so after pressing both of those buttons your screen will look like this:

sort of like word only with other characters!
Thanks!!

Cheers,

I don't quite know how well this works as I am too busy to test it right now. But there is also an example in the DB help files if you're using DBC called perfet type or something like that.

Hope I heled!

Well it appears you did not make a language...just replacement characters for the english alphabet. If it was your own language, it wouldn't have the same structure, words would not use the same letters, there would be new exception rules, etc...

NO! NO! NO!
I made up my own language, there are 5 more characters than there are in English: 'll', 'th', 'ar', 'er', and 'ey'
and the wording structure is a little different much easier. It is based on easy thoughts. It would sound caveman almost if you translated it litteraly!
For example: I would like an apple. = Qera hethak.
Litterally translated means - I want apple or want apple (the want is in the I form. Like in Spanish!!)
I did make up my own language, I'm posting the words and characters on my website now, the word list just doesn't seem to be working right now, but when I get it working you'll see!!!

Then my next question is...why? Why the HELL would you make your own language? You planning on taking over some small country and forcing a new language upon the wee litte children? Or are you making something you think will catch on with "super-nerds" like that star wars crap. Either way, it will never happen and all i think you are doing is wasting time you could be using to do something more productive. Sorry, but it IS rather useless.

Gosh you're alittle bit grouchy today.
I made up my own language because Im into that kind of "crap" and I enjoy speaking with my friends in a language that as far as anyone else knows doesn't exist!!!

Well you could call it your own language, but it is technically english if it uses the same grammar and similar word structure. And, a real language you can't translate letter by letter, because it needs to be reinterpreted. Still, its fine just using a different character set and changing things a bit, a while ago I wanted to make a game with that sort of idea in.

EDIT: Actually, if you pronounced everything differently, you could get away with calling it your own language.

To all,

language (lane-gwedge)

1. Communication of thoughts and feelings through a system of arbitrary signals, such as voice sounds, gestures, or written symbols.

2. Such a system including its rules for combining its components, such as words.

3. Such a system as used by a nation, people, or other distinct community; often contrasted with dialect.

4. A system of signs, symbols, gestures, or rules used in communicating: the language of algebra.

5. Computer Science. A system of symbols and rules used for communication with or between computers.

6. Body language; kinesics.

7. The special vocabulary and usages of a scientific, professional, or other group: “his total mastery of screen languagecamera placement, editingand his handling of actors” (Jack Kroll).

8. A characteristic style of speech or writing: Shakespearean language.

9. A particular manner of expression: profane language; persuasive language.

10. The manner or means of communication between living creatures other than humans: the language of dolphins.

11. Verbal communication as a subject of study.
The wording of a legal document or statute as distinct from the spirit.

Figured I should throw this in to clear up the definition.

Well....
Fixxer thank you for actually answering my question.
But...how do I create my own font and package it my program?
Also to everyone I have a website, it's on the little bar under my comments, but the word list (the most important part) is not working.
Does anyone have any ideas for me? I'm using DreamWeaver version 4.0 I know it's old, but it's all I can afford right now. (I got it for free!!!)
Anyway does anyone know what my problem could be?

Captain American,

You will need some type of font editor/creator. There are several of these programs out there. However, I have searched up and down the tree of download.com and have failed to find a free one. I am sure there is a basic font creation program out there somewhere that someone has posted for free, probably due to a past need to make it for a small project of some type. Just spend some time looking throughout the web. Try google. Good luck.
