Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeey people!

Yep yep, I'm back, not -very- frequently though, as school keeps me busy, but also work, and lately computer issues that I'm having are what keep me off the DB world for a bit. Yes I've dissappeared for some time but I'm never gonna leave . Anyhow, I was lazy one day, thinking about the project I've been SO trying to make but can't even get a solid base where to start from, and then I notice my biggest problem in -all- my projects has been the collisions. I've -never- got a good colission system except for in my game DarkROIDS; and still, wasn't quite good, neither was in Tank Master (both DBC and DBP versions).

Now, decided to finish my super project I've been trying to work on in months, I'm searching for a good colissions system, that can be adapted for a Tomb-Raider style game (not the last one y'know, TR: Last Revelation, TR: Chronicles and such) but I never seen to get a good one. My PC is slow so FPS are a priority, though having a slow PC also help me with improving framerate and stuff. Anyhow, I once saw a code about a colissions system that worked on DBC and DBP, it was FPS-oriented and worked -really- good, but I tried adapting it to a third-person one, or at least, that could be adapted to any object, and not just the player, but I failed on that, I never got the code right, and the tries I made never worked :/.

So, then, I was wndering if any of you got that code converted, or at least made it easier, or if any of you knew about another colissions system that worked on DBC or DBP with an X / 3DS object, different colissions styles (or at least cube/rectangle colission) that could keep up good FPS and could be used for multiple objects? I know I'm exigent, but I'm -sure- there is one, and don't tell me to use Nuclear Glory, I don't have the money to buy that (nor will in a few years)

There has been various reasons why I have been away, one is because my computer has been fixed a lot of times, I've had to change monitors (and now I'm in a color one, blurry as HECK, but at least it's better than my monochromatic one I had before), burn data (small HDs), just today my dad had to give the CD-RW drive back 'cause it was malfunctioning, good thing it's under warranty :/, I've had to reinstall a couple of times and it's being a mess. School has kept me busy with the stupid team homeworks (and my team skills suck, both offline and online, at least for the moment) and girlfriend... eh, hehe, y'know , the work here has got me busy too, PhotoShopping some pictures for friends and making small database programs in other languages (hey, DB is just games xD) has earned me some money which I've used to buy a new mouse (optical, woo!) a new keyboard and lots of CDs to burn my HD data to fee it up . Buuuuuuuuut anyhow, yeah, those have been the reasons why I have been so out of the DB world for the moment :/

Anyhow, thanks to you all in advance ^_^!!

I'll give you my copy of version 2.03 (If it's legal) I don't plan on using it again, and if I need NG, I'll just go buy the newest version.

It's good to see you're back.

How's it goin DARKGuy? Sadly I can only theorize a BS around on how to do mathematical collisons, so I'll join Embriel Warror's party, can't help in that sense.

They're mainly for physics, but you can try Tokamak or Newton, I believe they have collision, and they're free.

I think so, you're not gonna use it after all as you say and I'm sure the new version has more benefits than the 2.03 for you, so if it's possible, you'll be helping me a WHOLE lot!! ^_^ I mean, like, wow, thanks a ton!

It's also good to be back ^_^ thankies

Heh, just like you can see in the post add that a bit of sickness though, can't stop coughing, hoping to get better lol, but good thanks! ^_^ how 'bout you?

Eh, that's okay... I think that would help too, even though I don't have too much math on my brain (blame my educational system here ) maybe I won't come up with something good enough to be called a flexible good colission, but it could be a good try? who knows

Ooooooo sounds good, though, they're just for DBP, right?

I keep forgetting to check these boards...

Have you got it all sorted out?

(yeah, Tokamak and Newton only have wrappers for DBP, but you probably figured that out anyway)

I don't think anyone really knows how to use the collision system, the only think I used was this:

Wh- What the hell's wrong with using VB's built-in collision system??

I mean, figure out all the bollocks of whether to set various objects to Polygon or Box, and then:

Quote: "
if object collision(obj1, obj2)=1 then .......
"

Meh, 's teh EASY!
