Hey all,

I've had this problem with IE and scripts for a while but now it's becoming particularly annoying. When there's heavy scripting it generally bugs out in one way or another (with a "Done, with errors on page" message in the lower pane), and I can't even use the Yahoo! Music Engine, which plugs into IE, or MSN Spaces, which requires IE to be customized properly, because of this. I can't install a previous version of IE thanks to MS's annoying installers, re-installing the one I currently have does nothing and Windows Upgrade doesn't list anything. I've tried reinstalling all plugins too, to no effect. Any ideas ?

I was just kidding, sorry.

I used to get the script error thing all the time, especially on eBay. I don't think there's anything you can do except disable scripts, reload the page, or update IE.

Do you have Google toolbar or any pop up blockers?

I have the toolbar blocking popups and if often annoys web sites who try to keep track of the popups which immediately get removed, thus causing errors.

I don't think I'm ever been tempted to abuse my ban power quite so much as when people pollute a thread with useless crap because they haven't bothered to read and/or use more than one brain cell considering the original post

The first, yes, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't have anything to do with popups, since A) they're allowed on MSN sites and B) this occurs with programs that access the IE core without the extentions. Thanks for the suggestions though

If I hear one more Firefox fanboy pose "get firefox" as the answer to a question that does not even remotely involve the Untouchable Oneā„¢ then, well, I dunno. I might slap them.

I think everyone is missing the point that the scripts are written FOR IE and will not work in FF!

If your using Windows Service Pack 2, then that also runs it's own protection code. It also resets your default content security settings.

Setting them all back to default generally fixes most Explorer problems. There are some that are bugging me though. There are also occasions when just reloading a page will help because it dropped some required data.

Last thing to do is to check to see what the advanced security javascript settings are. Remember that while one toolbar might have a website unblocked another system might now.

Raven fixxed your problem?

Kudos to him then, but not the normal kudos. His kudos are more melted and the teeth particles are from elephants.

Back on topic:

You're both setting terrible examples by having this uncomfortable conversation.
