Now i want to present my second try of making a puzzle game for the Competition .... my first Idea was a Lemmings/Sheep-like game, but i realized that this would take to much time .... So ive decided to make Project Domino (only a WIP-name)...

In this game, you have to bring one domino-stone down .... but you can only hit the starting stone ..... you have to put stones into pre-given levels to bring down the finshing-stone in a chain-reaction ......

A few screens:

Demo alpha 1:

its only a little demo ... its too easy ....

http://www.opfish.de/DL/Dom_demoa1.zip

EDIT: Actually, it isn't working ....

The demo consists of two days work .....
I hope it will work, the latest DX is required ....

regards ...

Dominos are very very awesome. I couldn't play the demo though (some sort of loading error), so I have trouble seeing how you can make different levels of difficulty- Mayby have towers built out of dominos?

Graphics need an overhaul, but given two days I think they're fine... that is until you add awesome textures and sceenary, and cool fonts.

Keep it up! I see a lot of potential in a working dominos game!

Thanx, to all .....

Ok, the Demo was Crap ... but the next one will be compiled on my Dev-Machine .... I hope that will be better ...

The Grafix: i hope they will be good ( ), sometimes there will be Landscapes in the background and so on .... later, there will be also textures and maybe a few Shader-effects .....

There will be several missions in which you have to do several things ... only by hitting one stone ....

@ Bizar Guy - Mayby have towers built out of dominos?

good idea, but i think its impossible with the very easy physics
ive developed .... somekind like Newtn would work, but its to late to integrate it ....

But it will be good without complex physics ..

More Screenshots will follow the next days ...

So stay tuned

Ok, 5 days of work, very much done .... but its a long way to go ...

5 new screens (sorry for the Resolution ... i love it):

more platforms ....

the built-in (not ingame) editor ... the Dev-edition in the trigger-mode

triggers and "buttons" (everything here is a placeholder !) in Action ... everything has worked

anther shot of the editor .... in stone-mode

the same "level" with the free-move camera in Chainsaw .... er chain-reaction-mode

the next thing i will implement are background elements like landscapes or walls .... maybe a new working demo will ship the next days ....

a small update:

just two new screenshots ..... i haven't work very much on the game the last days, i hope to increase my working speed ....

- editor

- the CR-mode, points included .... and yes, there are textures !! i know that they have to be scaled, but its only alpha ...

(Hopefully ) the levels will be much bigger than this in the final game .... this is only for testing ...

Ok, time for a (bad) update ...

The Deadline of the Compo is coming nearer, but im far behind the schedule ...

Im in deep Alpha Phase, many things dont work as i want them to work ... the editor is not good for fast building, everything needs a big evolution ....

Actually i think taht this project is not ready for the compo ... in order of big project i want to present on the german DarkBasic Convention i probably stop working on Projekt Domino til august ...

Then i want to finish it ...

a few screens off the beta 6

This is looking really awesome. There's still over two weeks until the compo, and even if you just fix the bugs and turn in the completed editor, you'll have a great game that everyone will like. Then later you can finish everything, but PLEASE put this in the compo!!! It's too cool not to!!
