Do people normally sing when you "get" music?

Two words : Search Tool

Free music is rather limited though - but what you find is usually fairly reasonable.

Visit http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~nickk
AtomZ - Only for Intel compatible computers.

Videogame music is probably your most direct resource, but obviously it depends on what you need it for. I mean, if your looking to sample instruments your probably better off with normal tunes and just taking as little as you can from them to make your own sounds.

A good place to hunt for free music that you could use in your game would be Modplug, like root around for soundtracker modules that you like then contact the composer for permission - most of the time they'll glad to let you use their tune in a game. Modplug tracker is quite good, it can create .wav's from the output which you'd convert to .mp3 for ease of use.

You should also be aware that .midi tunes suck unless you have great sound hardware, and they rarely have any singing (midi tunes are digital, they can't really hold recorded sounds).

Which is what I use... (for the most part, tho I really like the VST power of Psyle. And the coolness of Skale. But I like ModTracker for some reason) http://www.modplug.com

...and actually it has a "save as mp3" AND a "save as .wav"

There's been quite a few threads about this topic lately, you know.. maybe I should write a tutorial or something Just search the forum for "music", there's quite a few threads out there

the dream theater website has some good midis too. I downloaded half an hour of their music onto my phone for when I want to bug old people at work.

analogue x's "vocal remover" will remove most voices from most songs.

when two sounds of similar noise are pointed at each other they cancel each other out leaving you with a "karioke" <--spelling version.

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself
