Don't you just want to slap the writer of it?

That's amazingly stupid The worst part of it is that 9/10 people would actually fall for it.

Quite clever really - I'm sure someone will be able to work out the encryption system sooner or later.

What's new.

Quote: " "This attack is yet another indicator of the growing trend of criminals using technology for financial gain," said Kevin Hogan, senior manager at web security firm Symantec."

No, really?

Would've never guessed that.

Very true - my mom got an email a couple of days ago with a fake order form from a website - you clicked on the link to go to the website and the main page had the title of "Empty" with a blank page - when I looked at the source I saw that it was trying to exploit a hole in internet explorer thru java script which downloaded a file on to the user's computer

All I can say is tht I'm glad I forced my family to move to firefox

Actually, they already have. It uses PGP, which I think was cracked after a cluster spent a few months on a chunck of gobbledegook.

I don't think so. As Brick said, it's pretty clever. You won't be able to get to your data without the key, so people won't "fall" for it because it's not something you fall for (as in, it's not fooling the user).

What bugs me about this is how do these guys receive this money without being traced? It has to go somewhere, eventually and when it does, the money bugs will be watching.

Perhaps the guy was thick?

It's times like these that your glad you've got norton goback installed - if i was to get the trojan, all i would have to do is reboot and click on a menu, then it would restore my computer to before it happened

It's not by Microsoft, so I wouldn't bet on it.

only a fool doesn't protect thier computer, no matter what browser technology is being used.

the only reason Explorer is being targeted rather the FireFox is because ... Explorer 80%+ Market / FireFox 8%+ Market
who is the creator of the trojan going to get more money from?

wait, let me put on my shocked face that it only targets Explorer.

Quite true - unfortunately a lot of stupid and ignorant people dont... And then there are those who refuse to use anything other than IE (usually because of rendering problems that used to be in Firefox), or because they are "used" to IE.
