Rob K, have you seen this?

This is the BLIDE for Blitz basic! Thought you might be interested, in something that seems to have a very similar name+logo - is your logo copyright to you or not??

Yeah, it was probably taken from the same clip art pack or graphic website. Nothing to get fussy about.

It's M-E-G-A-T-O-N. NOT MEGATRON.

Yep, looks like something from a template site. Probably a free one. Even the ones you pay for don't normally give you exclusive rights. A site I saw recently had site templates for about £30, but around £500 if you wanted exclusive rights (ie. no one else ever gets it), although I think this means "from this point onwards", and whoever bought it before is still allowed to use it. Not sure.

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

I always thought a better logo would be having like a Blue Window, kinda like how the Console programs have for Windows XP, only slightly more detailed with rounder corners, and 2 tone blue rather than blue-white.

would make a sweet looking logo, i've never understood the whole 3 multi-coloured block things.

Personally I think it looks like somting out of a tutorial. Becuase on the BlueGUI one , The boxes have spaces. And in most tutorials they show you how to do that ( change the effect or what ever ).

Any way , I dont think it's doing any harm is it ?

What was wrong with the original Blue logo, the box with the word blue in it?

If they can't even bother to rip him off properly, I doubt many people will use their IDE

Hey, it's an opensource IDE, as long as they're giving out the sourcecode under the GPL there shouldn't be anything wrong.

Does that mean I can use the Micrososft logo, as long as I give my product away free?

Good point - there are loads of GPL icon sets out there, it almost certainly could come from one of those.
