Newcomers DBPro Corner / Odd problem within DB :'(

There must be others with this problem. Sometimes when running even one of the sample program listings, I get an odd sort of graphical stickiness in the lower-left sixth of my screen. I don't think it's an object I'm creating, as it only ever happens in the lower-left sixth and happens randomly. It can be covered with a matrix, but still tends to poke into the sky. Any ideas how to remove it?

Oh, if I compile the program with the stickiness, it appears in the compiled version, too.

Got me stumped.
