apple has been secretly compiling binaries on intel chips of osx since 10.1.

macs development package Xtools 2.1 provides the option to compile universal binaries for both versions of the operating system.

for older mac based applications there is a light weight but powerfull emulator called rosetta.

2006 is the first mac machine to ship with intel processors

leopard is the next major release but no hints were given

osx widgets have gone nuts with hundreds of widgets being made and some of them are very good.

umm yeah theres a video keynote address on apples site if you want to watch it.
theres a few people in the industry who say something about there product like ceo of adobe etc..

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself 

Could be interesting - perhaps Apple will finally give Microsoft a fight...

...or Microsoft takes over Apple...

It's kinda interesting, but to be honest we've known about MacOSX being x86-32bit Compatible since it was developed.

It was originally ported over to an IA-32 for a while until they finished the Apple PPC Code. The compilers inside it have options for it too.

I doubt it'll compete with Microsoft, thought personally I reckon they're focusing on the wrong chips.

Well, even Microsoft are focusing on the wrong chips, but unfortunately Intel is a healthy company...

You seen Intel's sales recently?
They're dropping, like they did when AMD first started the challenge them with the K6-2.

Well anyways Microsoft's position is changing. They tried to move to additional platforms with Windows NT, but it wasn't accepted. Hopefully this time they're going to introduce it properly.
