Yes, it is... should I like... reinstall DBC?

BTW I got the car thing from DarkMATTER and made it into an X file.
Before it was a DDS file.

Well you don't need to reinstall DBC that's for sure.

I havn't worked with x. objects before so I wouln't know the problems that can occur.

did you spell the name currect? Isn't it smallcar.x or Smallcar.x?

please reply

GreenFox,

Experimenting by adding or subtracting elements from your code is a good method in finding the program's fault. Therefore, start with taking away : APPEND OBJECT "H-Small Car Red-Move.x",1,1. Now, try and run it. If it works fine, then you know that it has something to do with this command.

You mean, you renamed it ( ) or converted it?

And (forgive me if I'm wrong, I'm not experienced with modelling), isn't DDS an image file?

And if it didn't exist, wouldn't it tell him on the 'load object' line instead?

I think I should reinstall darkbasic cause another reason is...
when I go into commands, matrix3d, and many other help files it is either blank or has all these weird symbols instead of real commands.

Aww this sucks...

GreenFox,

You might as well unistall and reinstall it. It's not like your going to loose the code you have written. This is a weird error. Update us on its status.

I think as it is not higlighting the load object command and the move command instead you may have refereed to the wrong Id number. When you load the object you shouldv'e give it and ID number e.g. 1 Make sure you are referencing it properly.

Hmmm strange indeed. I can't think of any reason why it should be doing that. Your code seems perfectly fine...

NO! Just because you have a small problem doesn't mean you should stop! Just begin working on another aspect of the game until you get the "EUREKA" moment and all is well...

The dds file is not the model, it's the textures. There is also a .x file in the same folder.

You can also try using the 3DS version of the model, which comes in the Darkmatter collection.

Codewise...strip it right back...

AUTOCAM ON
LOAD OBJECT "smallCaR.x", 1
SYNC
WAIT KEY

When you start your program, the object should load, the camera will auto-position itself to point at the object, and the program will then wait for you to press a key. This way, you can actually see if the object loaded.
