I downloaded the exe patcher, and the exe tool. Im confused as to how to use this.

When I got to load exe in the exe tool, it says paddingxxpad cannot be found, it may not be a DBP file. Then it only lists standard exe header and extra or compressed block.

Also when i first start up the exe tool, it get this error message:

I've had no problems using that tool.

I think the error at startup is caused by a minor incompatibility between the .net framework v1.1 which it was developed with and v2.0 that judging from the error text you have installed.

I have attached a new version that should hopefully remove the error on start up, please let me know if it fixes the problem.

As for why it can't open the dbpro exe I am not sure. Have you tried opening other dbpro compiled exes to see if they open?

edit:
I have started to rewrite the program and you can get a very early version here. It uses a better method to locate the end of the exe stub and the start of the attached files so should work where the old version failed. Everything is done with a context menu which appears when you right-click on the listview.

By way of demonstration, he emitted a batlike squeak that was indeed bothersome.

is there a way so that the user does not have to choose which exe to patch? Can I make it patch the exe in the folder in program files?

I don't know if this is the right time or place to ask about this, but how do you use this patcher? And why?
Sorry, but I don't get it, and I havent heard of it before!

I think it the virus that mess up or spybox of villian.
Try use Adware or buy Norton Anti-Virus: $50.00 They can fix it maybe.

or get AntiVir from www.free-av.com for free and get a virus checker that actually works.. Lol.. Norton, McAfee and AVG all missed about half a dozen viruses that AntiVir picked up...

I just updated the patch tool to make it easier to produce patches. There is now an analyse dialog. Select an old exe and the new exe and it will work out which files have changed and put them in the patch.

It's easier than thet old method of manually working it out and using exe_tool to extract the files or diging them out of the %TEMP% dir.

Screenshot of analyse dialog.
