why would u want to

basically u would have to load a series of frames, or pictures, and texture them on the object at the framerate(using a timer) u want

3 methods right off hand.

1) Texture an object and retexture it for each frame from a new image ( a series of images as you stated )

2) For simpler animations you can use scroll object texture if the image doesn't actually change but moves.

3) Use a .avi file and use load animation, play animation to image, and then texture the object with that texture.

If you check the "iced" demo,
there is code in there demonstrating a method.
In that demo, Lee called the method "decal goblins".
In theory, it was to help low-end systems play the game.
In that context, not too usefull imho, BUT,
if you wanted 1000 goblins walking in formation at the same
time, but with low polygons, than a 3D plain with a good
texture does the job well.

the texture object method works in theory, but I have found that calling texture object several times a second hits the frame rate very hard... eg 160 FPS down to 40....

New 'n' Improved sig details how little I accomplish

Texture object is the fastest of the 3 methods on complex objects. The lower the poly count then scroll object texture is fastest. Play animation to image is pretty fast if you aren't using NGC. For some reason NGC and playing animations bog down, if the .avi has any real size to it. I used all 3 methods in the .csm importer example I posted in the CSHOP forum.
