Hello,

I've been wondering how sprite animations can be re-used for multiple characters. For instance, when working in 3d, an animation can be applied to different models as long as they contain the same parts. How does this apply to 2d graphics. If I create a walk animation for one character can it then be applied to another character. Essentialy, I would like to know if it is possible to make "skins" for 2 dimensional characters. Any idea if this is possible or how it is done?

Thanks

cannon,

For 2D sprites, you are able to use a simgle images for multiple sprites at one time.

Skins for sprites? The "skin" is the image used for that sprite.

I'm not sure what exactly you are trying to say. My example wasn't very clear. here is a more specific one. I have a character for an RPG, there are multiple types of armor it can wear. If I want the armor to appear on the character, do I have to reanimate a set of sprites for each set of armor.

Maybe what I should be asking is is there a way to make bone based sprite animations? Hopefully that made a little more sense than my original question.
