I have this code:



Now, I have to just tap the mouse button as lightly as I can to get it to play once. But if I hold my finger there for just less than a second, 10 miliseconds at the least, it sounds like a machine gun. Now, for a pistol, that is not right. But in my actual game Dark Wars it will be an MP5 as the main weapon, so a machine gun sound is great. But this is a pistol.. So can someone please help me with getting the sound to play only once when the mouse button is clicked.. Thanks!

Oh and can someone PLEASE help me so that if the gun shoots 10 times (if the mouse clicks 10 times) that the gun cannot shoot anymore and you need to hit a button to reload and it plays a sound I want, which is the reloading sound? Thanks!

or try something like this:

if mouseclick()=1 and b=0 then play sound 1 : b=1
if mouseclick()=0 then b=0

i do it almost everytime like that

this might work hopefully

if sound playing(1)=0
if mouseclick()=1 then play sound 1
endif


This will fix ur the sound prob.

Ya know, thats good but it does not let me move.... it just stays there. Now, that code REALLY DOES help me out in the part for the shooting sounds, and the reloading works fine too, but i cannot move.

Ok. It all works now!! So now what I'm going to implant into the game is an AK47.. This AK47 and the pistol in the game now are for demo use only. And MP5 and pistol will be added into the real game. But not a AK47 for you.

I guess the AK47 wont be added in the demo. Only the pistol. Now all I need is DarkMatter so I can add some enemies and I need a modeling program to model some little huts... Milkshape 3d expired so dont get me into getting that... Anyone got an idea for a 3d program i can use for that?

Well yeah, you only asked for help with the gun sounds, you didn't want any movement. The ... in my code indicate that this isn't a full snippet, only the bits you need that you can put into your code, you will need extra stuff, like movement and initialisation and everything else.

Yes but I had a movement code in there and it didnt work no matter where I placed the codes.

But, I now have my gun sounds working fine, and movement fine, and reloading works but I am not using it with the 10 bullets just yet because the FPS really drops from that... But I'm all good now! I'm getting DarkMatter soon, too, so I'll have something to work on soon.

Actually, i think I'll fill you in a bit more on the contents of DM:

- No sounds
- No Music
- Textures (Natural / Urban / Alien I think)
- Models in .x / .3ds
-- ~ 4 useable in military games
-- ~ 5 alien models
-- A good range of vehicles (esp. cars)
-- Guns (a good selection : sadly no reload animation)
- Skies
-- Good range of skyspheres + boxes (~ 30 I think)

Which model? What model did I want indentified?

BTW, it doesnt matter at all if its an American soldier, soviet soldier, Iraq soldier, or German soldier.... Cuz your just gonna be one guy (the GI maybe, or the American soldier) with 3 other people with you, and you 4 have to kill the other soldiers.. There will be 3/4 levels then... Each with different soldiers. It doesnt matter where each is from, anymore.. But which model did I want identified?

The skyboxes are ace, the skypheres are a bit dodgy but I probably couldn't do any better. There's a bit of colour banding on the skyboxes, but that probably wouldn't be noticeable to anyone in a fast paced action game.

If you dont like them make the level really tall but enclosed fog the top and there is the sky(you could use a partical effect to make snow so it looked correct)
