If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself 

So? I know where you live. Ooh look. I can see a very very high altitude picture of your town too. Am I likely to come and try and kidnap you? Erm... nope.

What's more interesting is typing TGC's postcode into google earth

Is it based in the Heinz factory? Oh no, wait - the offices will be above a Hampsons Pie Shop, I know it.

This is just Keyhole ported and made freeware, really, which is what they've been doing lately. Hopefuly they'll start integrating their various tools with each other soon.

Type in an address and then click on satelite. It's the same sort of thing I could see the slab my house was built on from about 8 months ago.

P.S. This is a 2 Meter satelite. 0.6 Meter commercial statelites (3 Times the resolution do exist)

my village is just a black blur inside a green blur south of the grey blur that is birmingham.

it seems you have to be in the US for any form of detail.

its fun looking around the world for varius features, i found the colloseum, pyramids, sphinx, varius places in london, cattle rustler's house, places i visitted in turkey... i also spent a while looking for area 51 before realising it was already bookmarked.

i'm now stuck looking for the wall of china. i've locatted all the towns it runs through, but theres no line linking them up. so much for "visible from outter space"

So am I. And that search is useless unless you´re looking for a restaurant.

Check out the detail in Cambridge, USA (near Boston).

It's down to about 5cm per pixel.

Not as good as I thought it would be - the information can be up to 3 years old, and you can only zoom to around 700 feet before zooming in becomes useless (you have to buy it before you can zoom in more).

No, some is much older than that. It doesn't show the dual carriageway through our town that was built over 10 years ago.

But it's still a damn good tool!
