Once again, I had to teach DarkBASIC in a school, but this time there was a little problem : the computers were not powerful enough to stand DarkBASIC, in fact only the Graphic-card was too low. (So the education version was useless)
Then the pupils insisted so much, that we found a weird technique :
They bring their own computers and we installled the DarkBASIC demo on it.

Luckily I'm proud to say that they learn quite fast and are really realistic compared to some newbies on the forums. It's not meant to be an offense.

Maybe that's because those in the school you teach at are actually willing to learn something

Anyways, that's great ~thumbs up~

Ummm... most kids at most schools are willing to learn something. It's just a few kids who don't who sort of ruin it for everyone else. I should know, I go to school.

Damokles,
Nice work

I know I had that same trouble at High-School when trying to demonstrate to the teacher DBP.

No wonder, though... It turns out that the Uni I attend now gives their reject computers to the Government High-Schools

Jess.

Thanks guys.

Yeah, jlb1987, you're right. Most of the time it's only 2 pupils or so, but that's enough to disturb a whole lesson. And once they're out of the class, it's perfect.

And it's really easy to do such a lesson, I just have one page theory, which explains the difference betwen source-code and displayed programm, then only examples that they have to modify.
Those show only the bases, then they have to mix it up and make something more complex, and it works without bigger problems.

Dark Flame, here are some of the themes, not in the order I taught them :
SYNC, ...
REPEAT UNTIL, FOR TO, ..
MAKE OBJECT CUBE, POSITION OBJECT, COLOR OBJECT, ...
additions, arrays, programm structure, ...
LOAD IMAGE, PASTE IMAGE, ...
BACKDROP, ...
...

Technically they are already able to make pong, one even elaborated how to make a 3D Pacman, except for some errors in details, his main idea would work.

Oh yes, and I teach the most important thing : how to use the Help files.

When in doubt, use the help.
That didn't rhyme
