I was playing Bloodrayne a little bit ago, when I realized, "holy sh*t, I have the settings maxed out (all 6 of them, Resolution, color depth, water reflections, texture quality, bump mapping, and dynamic shadows) and the game was still running at at least 80fps. So I turned on all the audio settings to max... still 80fps. I then switched to openGL rendering, maxed it all out, and still 80fps (sometimes near 100fps).

I've googled it, looked all through majescos crappy support forums (seems rarely are questions answered) and asked alot of my MSN list... so, my last resort is you fine people.

Specs:

AMD64 3200+
Radeon 9600xt 128mb
1024meg ram
120gig 7200 RPM Hard Drive
Keyboard, a mouse... maybe a monitor.

OS - WinXP x64 Pro

Any help is appreciated.

Edit: to note, it seems all the game content is being run off the HD... maybe theirs a "slow me the hell down" patch somewhere.

Err, what exactly is the problem?

A great many people think they are thinking when they are really rearranging their prejudices.

it's running too fast?
now that's a real complaint...

i'll tell you what the problem is, too much RAM, so an easy fix would be, give it to me... i'll pick it up saturday evening about this time.

Yeah thats seems about right. Tell you what, how bout you give half to Darwin and the rest to me, that should easily fix the problem.

Run:
Microsoft Visual Studio 6 | C++ Professional Edition
Microsoft Office 2003 (all)
eMule / download accelerator plus
Any media player(playing your favourite DVD)
Windows Movie Maker (saving a 2 hours MPEG into a wmv file)
Norton AntiVirus 2005 runtime protection
Run SpySweeper's search...

at the same time..
Then, start playing (still with those application above (or equivalent) running)...
I think it is gonna slow down the game about more than 50 FPS =]
good luck..

Or are you rather going to give a half of your memory to Charles Darwin and other half to superunknown 13?

Problem is, its running to fast for me to play. Its funny during the cut scenese, because the characters will get about 1/4 of the way through their sentence then it'll cut to the next sentence

My biggest problem thats been gnawing at me is, the recomended is this:

Windows XP
Pentium 4 2.53GHz processor or AMD equivalent
512MB RAM
2 GB hard disk space
200 MB virtual memory
GeForce4 Ti 4600 video card
Sound Blaster Audigy sound card
Microsoft DirectX 8.1

Which is not much lower than my system.... Except for what I just noticed right now and thats the virtual memory... using about 8x that amount.

As for running a bunch of other programs while doing it? Nah... I'm not looking to stress out my computer, just want the program to slow down...

Like hell it runs at a reasonable speed on that system.
I was getting 15fps on mine which was almost identical specifications. It is one of the most poorly programmed PC games I've played in a while. Personally just bought the console version instead. Same goes for Prince of Persia.

Most of these damn Console -> PC Converts act like the developers haven't even bloody tested them. Well anyways my Geforce 7 has an option in the drivers to cap all games at the VSync I set (Default: 60). I'd recommend using that. It's what I use in almost every game because it prevents that horrible tearing effect in Half-Life 2 and such going to damn fast.

Yeah, no option in the Cats to cap it. I even tried turning up all the settings of the vid card (forcing AA 6x etc...) and i'm still pushing 75fps. Probably just give up on it eventually and play through it at ungodly speeds

Just instal Nortan system works. If that doesn´t slow you down to a crawl nothing will. Am I just using this post as a way to have a laugh at Nortan?...probably. Wait a minute. This being a commercial game shouldn´t it be frame rate independent? Honesty. Even my compo entry is time based. That remines me. Must get back to coding.
