According to the local newspaper, the (only) hospital here (St Richard's) is £20 million in debt, and will have to start assest stripping soon. The problem is caused by the Government not releasing the required amount of money to it - its been acknowledged by the relevant department, but they dont know what to do about it...

On a brighter note, Chichester has been voted the best place to live in...

I think I have an idea to save St Richards...

Car Wash!!!

Get all the nurses involved, that £20 mil debt will just melt away .

I've never been to Chichester, but probably if I had to move to England I'd like to live in Grimsby, great little place. TBH the further south I go, the more the people tend to annoy me .

Come to the North West - settle down in Alderly Edge, swan around with the footballers and the nouveaux riches etc... What a wonderful life

Sorry to hear about he hospital Nick - makes you wonder what they could have done if they saved all those billions and didn't invade Iraq. Would certainly free up some cash to save the hospital

Have you ever been to Cornwall?

The first time I went there some fluffy-back told me my accent was bogus - actually used the word 'bogus' and did'nt even expect a slap for it!.

I'm not exactly sure why, but I always feel more welcome in places like Newcastle, I think northern England's culture is a lot more like Scotland's - but it's probably just the drinking habits that throw me . No offence meant to any southerners reading this of course.

Oh yes - nice place in a rugged sort of way. Too crowded though...

Umm - what the heck is a fluffy-back ? I presume your not talking about rabbits ?

A fluffy-back is a younger version of a hairy-back.

Pretty much someone who's of lower intelligence, maybe finds a career in farm work and eventually marries one of his sisters uglier pals.

I live in Yorkshire, and always feel home from home when we go to Edinburgh.

Cant stand Edinburgh - apart from being too crowded, I got chucked out of a pub, just for quickly popping in to go to the toilet.

Just as us southeners tend to find northern accents hard! I had a slight advantage with scottich grandparents, but Jordi and Scottish are two very different things!

I like the south - you tend to get paid more Hehehe (Only cos housing costs more.. for the price of 1 house down here you could probably get at least 2 in the north!)

Edinburgh is a damn unfriendly place, just like most big cities, like people have no time for each other. Like if it's a hot day and you comment about the weather in a friendly fashion, a lot of city-folk will just blank you as if you demanded one of their kidneys.

The best places to visit in Scotland are further north, like Loch Ness - nice, friendly folk up there.

You can visit anywhere in Scotland and avoid tourists, you just gotta go at the right time of year. Loch Ness and all the other toursity spots will be crawling right now, but in about a month it'll be nice and peaceful.

You can still disapear up here though, like if your into camping and outdoor stuff Scotland is great, especially if it's solitude your after, just head for the hills. I do a lot of mountainbiking, all you need up here is a bike and a tent and your sorted for a nice little holiday .
