Worse actually. I played the PS2 version (which took its time). I played it for a few hours then went elsewhere.

Oh s***, there goes the planet.

I played it, then got a bit stuck, then got distracted by another game.. Also, my PC at the time was a little "borderline" in terms of spec.

I loved it though!! Really nice plot, good graphics, nice car physics (I loved having the racing car in the city )...

As I'm a huge fan of the "Mafia-Theme" in movies, I really liked Mafia the game. It has good graphics and a great story. The developers promised to add a multiplayer part with a later patch, which until now never appeared.

... they call it a royale with cheese ...

No, implying that this game is more than two or three years old and that the patch is unlikely to be ever released.

Perhaps racing and shooting or only shooting each other or only racing or even shooting while racing. There are so much possibilities

It might not be as great as GTA3 overall, but at its time (PC version) it already had some features that the next GTAs implemented as well. You could shoot tires and they'll hurt a car's handling. Also, unlike GTA3's drive-by's, in Mafia the player would break the car's windows so he can peek out to aim and shoot with any gun (GTA3's drive-by had a fixed aim and was possible only with the machine pistol). Plus it had more indoor levels and more dialogue (unlike GTA3 dude who still hasn't spoken even in GTA:SA). But yes, there's really very little to do in the game.

Funny I should see this thread - I was re-playing that only yesterday

Multiplayer would've been fun, it probably would have been a free-ride, in which case, good luck finding each other

I never knew there was a falconer in level 3...

would've been better with a bit more freedom though...

...maybe one day I'll finish a project
