Newcomers DBPro Corner / Get image/Paste image causing lag?

This isn't really my problem, but a problem someone else is having testing my game. Seeing as i'm not actually having the problem myself, it's kind of a pain to try and fix

Anyhoo, what is going in is there seems to be a few seconds lag whenever I load in all the images needed for my game (using a lot of get image and paste image commands)...
I load the images before the main game loop, the game loop starts and runs very slowly for a few seconds before it reaches a decent fps.

My game involves the textures for models being customised (changing skin & clothing colour and whatnot) so there's no way I can preload the images at the start of the game and just load them that one time, is there something obvious I should be doing?

Like a... clear visual memory command or something like that.

I just asked this on another message... but is your computer better than his? His computer might not be up to par for your game.

One of the most annoying things about programming for computers is everybody has different video cards, memory, and chip speeds. It takes trying out your game on multiple computers to get a feel for the minimum and recommended requirements.

Yeah I do believe mine is better spec. I guess it is just a question of specs, it's just it only seems to occur when loading images thought there might be some... thing... to do...

His has a better processor speed, but I have more RAM. That's not really the issue here, though... Everything runs silky smooth (for example, 52 fps), but only AFTER an initial 10 seconds or so of tremendous slowness (for example, 7 fps). The effect just seems to magnify lag that's usually minor and unnoticable during that period of time (lag caused by sprites or drawing commands, for example), and this magnification only happens when the get and paste image commands are used. It doesn't occur at all if they aren't.
