OH DEAR! Look at this pic

The numbers circled in RED is how much of my D/L Limit I got left. Thats got to last me and my family 20 more days. I wonder what they'll do to us when it goes to 0
Anyway I was wondering if anyone else has pesky download limits?

Yes, but I've never reached it as what is left over from the previous month is added to the next. I have 81.51GB left for the month...

My broadband company doesn't have a set limit, but I'm pretty sure my router sets a limit for it's wireless clients. I recently downloaded a 3 gigabyte Dream Theater file (it's not illegal -- it was an unreleased "behind the scenes in the recording studio" type thing), and I had to manually reconnect around every gig.

my current plan for an australian isp is ok, but id like to try adsl v2.0 if i ever moved from this studio as this current setup is cable


my isp is optus at the momo and bandwidth restrictions for this plan are:
12 gigs of traffic a month and free downloads from 2am to 9am every day.
great for interNight radio

if i should pop the bandwidth the modem is throttled to about 20k until the first day of the next month, and no extra charges are applied.

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself 

hmmm i guess i have no limits on my adsl isp(even port 80 is unblocked) or at least i havent seen any limit yet besides a 400kbs downloads(once i got a 1mbs download and the file size was like 10mbs but that was only 1 download sadly) and 50kbs upload speed

n00bs will be shot on spot...
It only gets more logical from here(sigh)

I have a 10 gig limit which is meant to cut the speed to 64kps if I go over (with no extra charge), although, the rare times I have gone over the limit my speed hasn't dropped at all, anyway.

tiscali are evil. if you've been reading computer magazines, they wont give you your mac address when you want to move. unlimited connections are normally 10-15 more than the capped prices.

normally with capped services, they will either kick your connection speed to something slow or charge you by the GB. you should check with your isp what they do if you go over your limit.

plusnet has been getting good reviews for a uk isp.

I have 2mb internet connection. And i don't have download limit. I live in Denmark. I don't even knew that there existed download limits!
Well.. I don't think anyone in Denmark got download limits. But of course i'm not sure

Well all i know is that i don't have download limits.
But all my life as a programmer i have never heard of download limits for the internet

And I suppose you didnt heard about ISDN connecton, in which you have to pay prepaid for hours you are goingto be on the net, and after that you get astronomical telephone bill.Wee you shouldnt complain.There is always somebody in worse situation then you

Download limits are supposed to only affect those who download dodgy programs & films...

No I havn't been doing anything like that. I was downloading the 500mb BF2 demo but my PC shares the Internet with the computer downstairs so the one downstairs has to be switched on. So someone decided they would switch off that one when my download was about 98%! All that data downloaded but totally useless.
