Those are really good screens, it looks great!
All the texturing, modelling and HUD work looks spot on.

Has a great Diablo feel to the graphics, dark and forboding, you seem to be following a trend in that sense billy777. I look forward to a playable demo!

... w-o-w... that looks amazing. In some ways I like the look better than Diablo II, especially the hud. That is some incredible work you do, even you website graphics look pro. This is some commercial stuff you're doing, YOU BETTER GET INTO THE NEWSLETTER! Anyways great work, and if you'd like you could throw those web graphics at me and I could work you up a pretty sweet site, I am mighty good at scripting (PHP, Javacript, etc.) and could get some custom stuff working for you (free).

GREAT WORK! aammaazziinngg

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Yes - very similar to Diablo (can you tell I like that game?LOL - Hey they are talking their sweet time coming out with diablo 3 so i guess i will make my own huh?)

Question? Notice the shadow in the last pic under the black widow? Its a plain - does anyone know why planes seem to break up like that? (when camera is far away) see the lines on the shadow? anyone know of any fixes for this?

Thanks
Bill

I think thats because you are placing the plain exactly on the same height as the floor, try placing them a bit higher(not much)..correct me if im wrong

No sh*t.
Basically your game is Diablo's innventory, skills & attributes and HUD. I used to be a big D2 xpac fanatic btw. Had level 90's everything online. (Plus owned every set worth owning and had a ridiculesly overpowered Assassin with duel WW blades + Bowzon that pissed people off) That's why I am so eager to play this.

I heard that Blizaard's 'official' line on Diablo 3 was something to the effect of:

"We would love to re-explore the Diablo world again, but we have other projects at the moment so, not yet!"

Quote: "(when camera is far away) see the lines on the shadow? anyone know of any fixes for this?"

This is caused by the zdepth, basically it's trying to render the shadow so close to the ground that the zdepth isn't accurate enough. Here're some suggestions on reducing the effect:

1) Position the object just above the floor, problem is this can make it look like the shadow is floating.
2) Play with the camera range so the maximum range is only just outside of what's visible within the play area and the minimum is just in front of (or closer to the camera then) the objects that are the closest to the camera. This will take a lot of trial and error.

I'd advise working the 2nd idea first, then once you can see the results from that, use the 1st idea.

I don't suffer from insanity - I enjoy every minute of it!

This is awesome
Looks just like D2 but much better. The HUD looks great!

Question, are you using 3D or 2D graphics. My guess is that it is 2D.

2D and 3d, nice combo, keeps a good FPS and you can have nice rendered images as background giving the high quality feel, just like Squaresoft used to do

Damn! This looks great! And the fact it was made in DPC just goes to show what raw talent can do for you! Very impressed! Looks better than D2! How big is this game gonna be compared to D2 then? About the same size? Bigger? Please make it bigger than D2?

Thanks for the comments... I would like to make it bigger than d2 - however this project is a very big project for one person - so we will have to see.

Right now I only have 1 of 3 chapters (each chapter containing 20 areas) and only 10 skills and 1 character-type designed.

[p.s. not sure but I think the message board still has a few bugs? - this post did not list the correct last poster on the main page]

that is because Final World is a noob (if I may) and is still under eval, or has been noob slapped.

P.S. The new screens look awsome...

I take it these "Chaptors" are "Acts"?

Although I honestly doubt you can make it larger then D2 since D2 was a massive scaled game developed by many people.

I have no doubt though, that this will still become a great game.

That is pretty cool!

I'm glad you're doing this in DBC. It'll show people how good DBC can be!

looks very nice, and reminds me of "Vampire: the Masquerade". Which was a fun game til I got stuck. Never bought the sequel though. The fact this is DBC makes it much more impressive. How are your frame rates?

lol yeah, I'm a n00b, but that's irrelavent...

Anyway, the fact that you got 3 chapters with 20 areas each is still pretty impressive! It's bigger than D1 at least! lol If I remember right, D2 had about 20 areas in each Act, so you're not doing bad! Better than anything I could do in DBC!

Yeah, so you WILL have 3 areas... and D2 has 4 (though the 4th is half the size of the others lol)

D2 had 5 with the expansion. I don't think DBC is capable of handling anything that big.

What makes you say that Phaelax? Really, if you can code it and use the media needed (graphics, sounds, ect), it should be able to...

Wow, this looks very comercial. Very detail production even the website is quite beautifully done. Best fortune with this project.

I will really want to play the demo, and You really should get in the news letter.. This should not go un noticed in our community especially since it is using DBC.
