A dll is not code. It is compiled binary, so calling it a code snippet is extremely wrong.

Technically speaking it would be a hash, I think it would be hard to de-compile it into source code.

Its like when you have blueprints to make a component for a machine, and when you have the component itself. Its harder to go from the component back to the blueprint.

Think of a dll as a bit of an actual executable, it doesnt have enough information in that it can run on its own, but it can be used seamlessly with other programs. Its like with train turntables, the piece of track on the turntable can be used by all the trains seamlessly.

(Sorry for the silly example).
