Has any one else pre-ordored F.E.A.R, if so have you received an E-mail about were to down load the beat client? I really want to play the game. I know that the testing starts tomorrow but you think they would let you donwload it to day.

Beta Client is currently on Fileplanet. I played it for a bit, but the multiplayer aspect wasn't as much fun as you'd think. I feel it's had more work put into the single player.

What I've found far more exciting is the Pariah Demo, they've obviously taken hint from other awesome FPS games. I truely found myself enjoying the game immensely!
It's a very short demo, but very very worth it.

Well this topic is about 'just another lame shooter', so if you don't mind I'll happily provide some comments on other FPS games that I've personally found to be fun to play with someone else who happens to like them.

If on the other hand we ever need someone to discuss the finer points of 'just another lame' RTS game, then I'll be sure to include you in the discusssion.

"F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault and Recon) is a first-person close-quarters combat game for the PC. The story begins when a paramilitary force infiltrates a multi-billion dollar aerospace compound, and the government responds by sending in Special Forces. The group loses contact with the government when an eerie signal interrupts radio communications--and when that interference subsides moments later, the team has been destroyed. That's where you come in. As part of a classified strike team created to deal with threats no one else can handle, your mission is simple: eliminate the intruders at any cost, determine the origin of the signal, and contain the potential crisis before it gets out of control." - IGN

It's similar to Silent Hill 2, set in the slight future. It sounds interesting, and the Single Player should be pretty cool. Going to be an awesone phychological thriller.

Yeah, it runs at 2 FPS on my machine.

I thought it was great.

Except for the sucking part.
