Another question: I'm drawing my sprites in PaintShop Pro and saving them as BMPs. In PSP, they look fine; however, when I use them in my DB programs, they become... "corrupted" - not badly so, but the effect is noticable - it's almost as if they've been resized or badly: a thin, solid line becomes dotted and broken, some areas of colour within the sprite become larger or smaller, etc.

I know that the sizes are right - I even use "SIZE SPRITE" between the "SPRITE" and "PASTE SPRITE" command.

Am I missing something important here?

First off make sure you use extra ,1 parameter on end of LOAD IMAGE. This stops the antialiasing blurry effect. Sprites also prefer to be of a computer friendly pixel size, like 32, 64, 128 pixels, etc.

If using paintshop pro, it is advisable to save sprites as PNG format. BMP is outdated and file sizes are huge. PNG is much nicer and also supports multiple alpha transaparency levels which DBPro supports nicely.
