G'day folks Got a little poll for ye today, the question being:

teh Zombies
or teh Bananas

I'm making a gauntlet style top-down 3d frag fest game for the cinco de maya compo, you see, and I need some imput on just what exactlly you'll be fraggin'. Ordnairly, I'd toss in the zombies in a heartbeat, but I was showing my mom what I had so far and she seemed to think it'd be much better if your sombero-clad warrior was blasting bananas to pieces instead of undead. Modeling skil0rz aside, what do you think I should do? Bananas would be an interesting switch from todays super-realistic games, but eesh... it's bananas for crying out loud!

What's your opinion?

Teh Bananas!! Give them arms and legs, and make them run/walk pretty fast. You could also give them special moves too (like they un-peel themselves at the top to shoot out some 'Banana juice' or seomthing)

Using bananas, you make the storyline blame the 'man from Del Monte'
(if you have no idea what the above is, just ignore it )

Why not have a selection at the start of the screen, along the lines of :

A) Are you pro-violence
or
B) Are you pro-fruit ?

If a - then the player shoots zombies, otherwise the player shoots fruit.

Make it so you're the sombrero guy shooting rotten zombie bananas. My mom tells me stuff like that too:

"Why do you have to shoot the guys in your game?"
"Because they're shooting you"
"Why do they have to do that?"
"If they didn't shoot you nobody would want to play it. You'd watch these security guard guys walking around looking at their guns as if wondering what they're supposed to do with them."


Make it so you can blow the bananas into pulpy chunks, kind of like carnevil or resident evil chunky violence except with bananas. It will be innocent and malicious at the same time.

ffs, it's because I haven't had time to mess with dbspot - been too busy with programming + music. Newb slapped, eh Here, have a coooookie. By the time you log on, I guarentee you'll be feeling at least half way better.

I'm definately going for bananas now - you guys have convinced me of that Means some reworking on the levels (AGAIN! and I thought I had it figured out this time) making it to be rather a rush to get all this in by the end of the month (I was at least one week to fine tune, and another week in case I break something) Main problem is the bananas... hmmrmph. Wings3d or blender... they both suck, but I gotta go at it sometime

*fires up blender tutorials again*

you coud have a whole fruit ARMY. where the bananas are like generals and they could be the bosses and the pears are infantry etc but still have them with claws and blue blood
