When you use the code "set window on", and the window is visible, how do you change the icon that appears like the Microsoft Window icon to something different? Say, an image?

Can you change the icon for your .exe (when viewed in Windows Explorer or My Computer)? I know you can change it for a .lnk link, but what about.exe's?

I've searched through books and tutorials, but this questions till haunts me.

Search the thread titles and google search for "icons", "change icon" and other variations, but also look for something called a resource hacker. Basically the .ico file is built with the .exe, so there's no way to change the icon in DB. I thought DBP had an icon change feature in the editor, but DBC definitely does not. Once you change the .exe's icon the window icon will change as well.

When you use DarkBasic, and run a code, it makes a temp file. The icon you see, is from the temp file. I THINK that when you create an exe and change the icon of it, you'll see that icon in the window.

Use a resource editor, like Colin Wilson's XN Resource Editor (http://www.wilsonc.demon.co.uk/delphi.htm) to change the icon. That's what I use for my apps! The standard DB icon is probably generated in the DB Linker source code. And since the program window icon is NOT the same as that of the program icon in cases like Visual C++ 6 (the language used to make DB), the window icon will probably be different. Hope that helps!
