Still quite a few bugs in it and to be honest I can't see me sorting all of them in time, but it is playable... just!

So, I thought I'd make it available for download.

Link: http://www.computechtenerife.com/acavern.rar (14.8MB).

It's an anagram puzzle game where you have to unscramble the anagram (jumbled-up word) then collect the letter tiles in the correct order to complete the correct word.

The included doc file in the zip covers everything, so please read it first if you have any questions.

The game is cool..

But the speed increases just by holding spaceBar.. this is never
in sync with ship's speed.. And the player must to play for too
long time to get 1 word...

But.. anyway.. the idea was great.. really nice game

Yes - that's one of the bugs I just couldn't track down in time I'm afraid. (only discovered the comp half way though the alotted time)!

I've a feeling that it might be a side-effect of using DB Classic.

In the final version submitted, I used a work-around to lessen the effect, so it's not as pronounced.

Leys:

I'll sort a few out now!

Screenshots:

Level Start:

You can land anywhere...

But don't land too quickly...

Refuelling:

If the game is liked, I'm happy to spend a bit of time and finish it off properly - with better quality music and without the quirky ship controls.

I noticed you can't see the mini-map from the screenshots very well.

The blue dot is your ship, the orange dots are landing pads containing letters, the red dots are empty landing pads and the green dot is a refuelling pad.

I really like those smooth graphics..
It is the first thing I look in a game..

I have a suggestion..

You really can keep this project up...
When you improve that physics... and make a segmented ship's fire,
you're gonna be able to make another type of game with this
nice start.. I don't know.. enemies.. rings to pass inside...

Or was this just for the compo?
