Ok....I was wondering...soon I may have 2 computers to work on simultaneously on programs and I was wondering if I could install the same XP on my first computer to the second one....and also I was wondering if I could do the same with DBP? since no one else will be using I dont think its a violation but when registering I think it may have a conflict..

Im not sure about DBP (cant be bothered to look), but I think you can only install XP on one machine at a time unless you buy extra licenses.

This sig has been dullified!

That's why they require "activation" via the internet. Or calling a phone number if you don't have internet access.

Oneka,

For DBP you need to take a look at it's User License Agreement. If I am correct, it is not against the license to place it on another computer that you are using. However, if I am wrong, may someone quicky correct me.

Not sure, but is probably the good old install on your own computers (ie. more than one), but not on someone elses, and do not run at the same time on multiple computers. ie. Would be a cheap way round installing on 20 of your own computers in an office, and letting all your employees use it at the same time, unless you had the same time rule.

Cheers

Ach, didn't notice it said XP. XP is supposed to be on the one machine only. Pretty sure DBP is allowed on multiple of your own PCs as long as you don't use any at the same time.

xp is only allowed to be used by one processor. if you plan on using it with more than one processor you have to get a new licence. but if you where to install it on both microsoft wouldnt know and you are allowed to update both computers with new windows updates.

Any spelling mistakes are totally In tensional.

@Merranvo: But due to privacy laws, they cant spy on your PC. It would be like you going to the police to say you've been mugged and while they're at it, the police decide to have a quick look around your house for anything incriminating. If Microsoft were found to be banning people by looking through thier license stuff while people were updating then they could get sued to hell. However, if they send a program to your computer that has a list of banned keys then that software CAN just say "You're on a black list - this software will now terminate" and you cant update... That IS legal..
