Hi Jack,

It was pretty good, and definately a very solid (first?) game! The models, even though from DB demos, worked well together! I liked the sound and music alot, and the gameplay was pretty solid - the fade out when you died was nice too! Oh yeah, and the way you could see the world far below - that was cool!

I got a handful of problems however, but nothing too major;

I think you should give the player infinite lives, as it is frustrating having to reload the game every time you run out of lives.
Make the scorpion jump slightly higher (and therefore further) as all too often I just couldn't make a jump.

A great start!

Oh and by the way, could you email me the sounds you used for the rubin collect and end of level stats please? My email address is drewcameron@ddrw.com - thanks in advance!

You will get the sounds in some minutes.
1. What about a check point? I think a check point is better than infinite lives
2. By pressing space you can heave you up
here is a shot movie:

Oh Okay, I knew about the heave up but thought maybe it was a bug!
Checkpoints would be good too, and thanks for the sounds

Good luck!

Hey, I like you r game a lot and it was inspiration for my game. I'm mostly a modeller and if you needed any models, I'd love to help you e-mail me at crydrk2@yahoo.com if interested.

[EDIT] Drew, you are the guy making Dumbo and Cool I just noticed. You happen to be inspiration too lol.

Oh... checkpoints
The game started pretty cool, Jack..
Add enemies;
Improve the collisions;
Play scorpion's animation faster;
Get the scorpion vertically on stairs..
Then.. all you'll have to do is to be making new levels..

I really like platform games..
That nitroBox maked me remember Crash Bandicoot..

Keep up..

@ Jack; sorry, don't know how you fix that - but it's a cool idea! Why not make a particle explosion if you can't get the animation working?

dude that looks sweet, and yeah Mario was pretty addictive, well I've only played Mario 64 DS and the gameboy advance Mario game, good luck with finishing it.

About your animation problem, thats a bugger, whats ur 3D program?

Oh and if you can't solve it, I'd make the animation in DBC, maybe as a function (or something like one is DBC doesn't support it)

Really much much much better.. Almost looking professional..
The textures are really looking btter, particles were used
moderately.. CheckPoint works correctly.. More realistic
movement now.. It doesn't "slide" in the ground like MJ anymore..

hmm.. this is gonna be one of the best DB platformers I ever played..

I've used 3D canvas, found it automatically UV maps your models, I'm guessing it comes with other bugs too, I guess thats your problem maybe, try the free blender and see what happens

the only thing I found 3D canvas good for was bone animation, but well if you paid the money, you may as well learn it properly I'd post this on the 3D canvas forum, see if anyone can solve your problem

Nice for a first game!

Maybe I shouldn't have decided to make a 3rd perso action/adventure gamr for one of my first games.

Maybe I should do something simpler...

I like DB!
