Im sorry if this question has been asked before, but without a search feature, it is hard to navigate this forum.

My question is, how do I get Maps that I make with Worldcraft Hammer 3.3, into my Dark Basic Games? What file format do I need to save as to get it in my game?

I found a tutorial that teaches you how to load a map, but it requires a .bsp file. But I cant figure out how to get my map into whichever 3d file I need to make it a .bsp.

Can someone recomend a free modeler that can import .map files, that can also save to the format I need? I have MS3D, so if I can import my map into another modeler & save as a 3D file, I can convert it with MS3D.

But the question is, how to I change a .map file, or a .dxf file to a 3D file, or import it into my game? Can someone please help?

Thanks,
Pyromaniac

Ok, ive used worldcraft (now the valve hammer editor) before, when i was breaking/modding half-life.

it may seem difficult to setup worldcraft at first but you get used to it ^_^

what you need to do to get a .bsp file out of worldcraft is set up the compile programs in the "build programs" tab of the "tools" and "options" menu.

I'll take you through it, just in case you arent too familiar with worldcraft

Click the "tools" option on the top menu after opening worldcraft, and select "options" Next click the "build programs" tab. Below are the settings you should enter (presuming all your compile programs are in the C:\worldcraft\tools... directory

CSG executable = C:\Worldcraft\tools\qcsg.exe
BSP executable = C:\Worldcraft\tools\qbsp2.exe
VIS executable = C:\Worldcraft\tools\vis.exe
RAD excecutable = C:\Worldcraft\tools\qrad.exe

you can also find some worldcraft setup tutorials on half-life sites like www.planethalflife.com i think

i hope this helps, post again if it doesnt and i'll try to help more

If you can do all the stuff in my HUGE post above ^_^ then just tap F9 and you should get the "run map" window.

I suggest running all the programs listed on "normal" mode, and then select "dont run the game" (because this would run the map in half-life if you have it)

one more thing, I presume you have set up your RMF directories and stuff in the "game confiurations" tab of the options menu, it doesnt matter where you put them to, but your RMF directory is where uncompiled maps are placed (i might be wrong, but i think worldcraft needs this in order to compile)

also you should set worldcraft to place compilled maps in any directory you want

hope this helps
