I've been working on this game and it's almost ready for a demo. I thought I'd post here for some encouragement.

Monster World is about the fire monsters and the water monsters who are fighting and the water monsters captured some of the fire monsters and that's where you come in. I have one level made. I'll put more screenshots up in like an hour because I have to go watch t.v.

why don't the fire monsters and water monsters just collide with eachother to form steam monsters? jk.

The cinematics play it all out for you. It's not that serious though. I just want to make it fun. Gameplay is what matters most I believe.

Updates: I added a lot of giant raindrops in the beginning of the level and am working on modelling so giant squids. The level is 85% done. When I put out the demo, do you want the cinematics too? (haven't made em yet so it will be longer)

The demo is 95% done. I'm going to try to finish it today and make some small cinematic stuff at the end. So I'll try to have it by tomorrow.

About the inactivity: Well, I don't really post on a game unless I see a demo. Then I comment on it. Maybe others are doing the same...

This probably isn't getting looked at as much as it should cause most people are over reading the compo forum.

Also, This looks awesome. But what type of game is it? Maybe it's just me, but you don't seem to have mentioned.
I think it's a platformer because of all the platforms shown. If so, what cool and unique gameplay elements are there?

Drew: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First the game I pre-odrered like four mounths ago has its release date pushed back five times, and now this!!!!! I will wait...

Lol good point I'm going to get the demo out either today or tommorrow. Yeah it's a platformer. Um... It actually plays a bit like Drew's game, Dumbo's Adventure. It's like, choppier though. I've been playing that game a lot and I wanted to make a game like it. My style is well, darker than his cartoony style. (Which is weird because I don't like anything dark lol)

P.S. Many of my beta testers said it was hard to play but after a lot of tries got used to it. (I find it very simple because I had to test it over and over again...) It was like, if you fall, you have to start over but then I noticed in Dumbo's adventure, you can quicksave. So I added that. (Drew, sorry to be such a copycat lol)

Guys, I'm sorry to do this, but my uncle's coming over to have me make a video for his band so I won't be able to finish the little movie at the end tonight... (though it looks like crap anyway )

I'm going to put the demo up tommorrow I guarantee, whether the movie is finished or not.

Theres the .exe for the game. I haven't gotten the movie into avi format so I'll put it up separately later. I've been trying to upload it on here forever but it's just not working. It's 2.9 MB. I'm not sure if thats too much or not. If someone wants to zip it for everyone, that'd be cool. Anyway, go ahead and comment. Remember, it's my first game and I'm really worried about getting flamed.

Hotmail won't let you have over 1 or 2 mb atachments anyways. To over come the exe issue, rename it *.exe.1
