Sup all,

I want to record Winamp Streams of music on my computer but I am a noob at doing this I have a program called ripcast but i dont know how to use this anyone have any idea on what I can do or how to accomplish my goal?

that progam looks extremely difficult to use i just wanna record winamp music could you tell me how to do it?

if you have the right sound card, you can open the volume properties and change to the recording options and check "What you hear" or "WAV" and click record in Audacity or something and it will record the music that is playing on your computer.

but, i dont think what you are doing is legal so...you didnt hear this from me

Continuing on from what Joel said, some soundcards also have 'Record from Stereo Mix' option. See if you can find 'Stereo Mix' in your volume properties.

Woot got it to record in audacity BUT it sounds like crap everything sounds like it is being recorded at a really high vlolume how do I change this?

I just use Creative's stream ripper. Put in the address and hit record, couldn't be easier.

if you look at winamps preferences output options you will notice that winamp can be used as a ripper for many formats and procedures.

choose an output DLL and configure it accordingly
